If im being honest, if AJ didn't play for BYU then this dude would probably be the dude I want the most. Nasty.

The Utah Jazz used to host a summer league called the Rocky Mountain Review. For a few years, it was held in the gym at East High School. I was a high school kid and got to see a young Shawn Kemp up close, maybe coming off his rookie season. Caleb Wilson reminds me of a more engaged, mentally sharper version of a young Kemp. (Shawn Kemp had some issues on the personality side, maybe some substance abuse, etc. that ultimately held him back.)

I have no idea how anyone can see Cam Boozer moving slowly and clumsily against college kids at 6'8'' and think that the stuff he does will translate to the NBA.

Wouldn't want to be the GM who's pressured to take Boozer in the top 3.

Boozer is the skilled big who plays at the top of the circle and initiates. It's similar to the way the Jazz are using Nurkic and Flip right now. Boozer is a triple threat, since he's a good shooter and good passer as well as a paint scorer. You can ultimately run your offense through him. It's just that he may not be able to score from the deep post against NBA bigs the way he is in college right now.

I've mentioned some parallels to Domantas Sabonis in the past. Boozer is more fluid and a better shooter than Sabonis, but he might turn out to have a few of the same limitations.

I too watched an 18/19 year old shawn kemp ball in the East High School gym. I remember dana barros was point guard i think. I was in jr high iirc and my older brothers would take me. We would get there way early and get in free.
I loved going to those games. I remember watching Rocky Mtn Review games sitting next to Blue Edwards in the stands. So cool.

I disagree that Boozer is more fluid than Sabonis (who's bigger). Sabonis doesn't have much of a vertical, but he moves his feet very well even at the NBA level and has much faster hands than Boozer – a crucial attribute for a slightly undersized NBA big who plays around the paint. To me Boozer is the clunkiest, slowest top prospect I've seen in a very long time.

Anyway, people seem to think that Boozer is destined to be a star/superstar in the NBA, not a high level role player like Sabonis. I just think that's way too optimistic.

I kinda hear what you're saying about a possible hub/initiator role for Boozer, but I'm just not sure if teams are willing to tailor a distributing role like that for a very high pick known for scoring. Sure he's skilled overall, but we really have no idea if he can even function like that in the pro game. Ideally, a high post hub should be able to see over the defense, and even Flip often seems too small for that role. Nurk is absolutely massive compared to Boozer.

Michigan is 23 point favorites over USC. USC is 12-1 and ranked 24th.

How do we weigh Michigan’s absolute domination? Feels like there’s something going on there that transcends the box score.

McKinney intrigues me as a sleeper prospect but I doubt he leaves unless he has a crazy tournament run. Yaxel really good too.
