I'm pretty sure that the FO thought we would lose last night playing on a b2b against a team that's been pretty good with AD, and that's why they didn't sit Lauri. I'm guessing they are trying to be strategic with sitting Lauri as little as possible while winning as little as possible. They are really walking a thin line here.

I dont agree with many posts that spell "4D tank chess" but I do agree with this one. They sat Svi and Nurk vs Dallas and probably planned to sit Lauri in this game all along.

Rest lol. Can't they be more creative with it? I can see OKC filing complaints as soon as they see this. Make it an illness, or back spasm, something.

If the Jazz get "interrogated" by the league about Markkanen, at this point they have a very useful stat on their side. Markkanen is 38th in total minutes played this season, despite the Jazz being a game down from league average in games played. That puts him alongside players like Cade Cunningham, Anthony Black, VJ Edgdecombe, Jaden McDaniels, KAT -- players whose minutes nobody would ever think are the result of tanking.

IF that really is the FO's thinking, then they're even more stupid than I thought possible and we might as well replace them with a magic 8-ball.

Holding Markkanen out against the Mavs and the Hornets has almost an identical effect on the Jazz's win probability. Maybe a slightly, a very small difference, if we're talking about games in which the Jazz would either be massive dogs or favorites.

Playing him 44 and 41 minutes on a b2b, with travel in between, and then keeping him out is just utter stupidity.

And this coming just a few weeks after Hardy commented hoping that at some point Lauri might be able to play b2bs. Let alone play 85 f'ing minutes.

Even the league office would be less interested in someone resting the back half of a b2b than this ********.

Hard to start an intelligent conversation when you convolute FO decissions with those of Hardy.

Hardy controls rotations, FO and team doctors etc. control availability. Lauri can affect both, but not control them.
