What's new

2026 NBA Trade Discussion Thread

One thing I haven't looked at too much are guys with another year left on their deals. Now that we don't have cap space next year we should be okay with guys that have another year left on their deals.

I don’t know. Assuming we’re keeping Key and Walker, we can’t afford to pay out the nose for a nice rotation player and that’s what having his Bird Rights would mean. Saying nothing of the tanking ramifications because he will not be sitting. He won’t.

I think the better path is pursuing a sign-and-trade using the Collins TPE which would have his starting salary at $18 million (which is a good price and also above the MLE).
This would also give the Bulls an $18 million TPE (along with whatever ancillary stuff the Jazz give up) which is not insignificant.

Do not ask me why the Bulls feel so meh about him (I guess they’re shopping him right now). I’d consider it almost a plus since they are a completely dreck franchise.

I should probably give up on Devin Carter... but its the Kings. WTF do they know. If we moved Collier for value elsewhere and took Carter on that would be a fun gamble that either helps the tank or maybe you find something. Kings might give something to do it as they are close to the second apron next year as things stand.

Maybe Nurk for Derozan and you waive Derozan (10M guaranteed next year). Likely could get you the Kings second rounder this year... basically a late first. IDK just a thought.
