Apparently the front office couldn't wait to play with their new toy. Why not wait at least until a home game to play everyone?

Possibly because the NBA doesn’t care if you sit guys at home. Also it’s harder to win on the road so if you’re going to roll out a better team, do when it’s harder to win.

Let's hope it takes the new guys about 30 games to figure out Will's system. And in those 30 games we struggle just enough to hold down our draft pick.

Yeah, the Jazz were never going to tank the first game with the new guys on the roster.
This game is essentially the FO throwing a bone to the long-suffering fanbase. A taster for next season.
