Official: Raja Bell/Jazz reach buyout agreement

Is it coincidence that this was announced within hours of franklin starting a thread about answers to prayers in the General Discussion forum? ;-)

Oh man, don't be dragging that awful thread in here, this s*** will get out of hand :D

Man, nobody must have wanted anything to do with him. Wonder how much of the 3 mil they payed him. Anyways..his basketball skill is gone and he failed as a leader.
At least it clears up a spot to sign someone.

Smell ya later, Raja.

Get it, cause like Raja Smell?

Also, **** you Raja. Have fun sitting at the back of the bench in LA.

I agree with Okur13. I am sure that they shopped Bell around before they just settled for a buy out. That means that nobody wanted to pay bell for his contract. Nobody thinks he has an ounce left in the tank. I am glad it came together, now we can move on with out the cancer on the bench.

Find it amusing twitter reporting many teams interested in Bell.
Did any of them see how bad he played?

What? He put up a stellar 8.2 PER during the 2010-2011 season, and then blew that out of the water with an 8.3 this year:

He plays great and has upside. What NBA team wouldn't want that?

The real question is how will the Jazz ever replace Bell's 1.1 win share from last season?

You, my friend, have come upon a stat that will help you out for years to come.

When a gathering is discussing Jazz basketball, mention Bell's PER.
When a young lad asks you for basketball advice, mention Bell's PER.
When a party finds itself in woeful awkward silence, mention Bell's PER.
When you crash into a car and the other driver is about to kill you, laugh it off with a mention of Bell's PER.

Use it wisely, my friend.

My name is KOC_Begone and it's clear O'Connor should be fired. He FAILED to get anything for Raja. A buyout should NOT have been offered. We could have kept Raja until training camp at least. Once the initial FA frenzy is over, teams will be falling over each other to sign Raja. We could have created a bidding war for his services. As a tough veteran leader with a deadly outside shot - and reasonable contract - Raja will bring a championship to whichever team signs him. Certainly KOC could have gotten an unprotected first.

Major Fail Mr. O'Connor!

Again if it is sourced right now that multiple teams wanted him then it shouldn't have been hard to move in for a lesser asset. Or find some three way to hop in on!

I see your point... Can I interest you in Marvin Williams' PER?

Fun, interesting fact... Marvin Williams had the fifth best (lowest) turnover percentage in the league last year:

(Also, Big Al is up there)

Turnover Pct
1. Matt Bonner-SAS 3.8
2. Al Jefferson-UTA 5.2
3. Jodie Meeks-PHI 5.4
4. Ryan Anderson-ORL 6.4
5. Marvin Williams-ATL 6.8
6. Thaddeus Young-PHI 6.8
7. Antawn Jamison-CLE 7.2
8. Louis Williams-PHI 7.2
9. Wesley Matthews-POR 8.0
10. Tayshaun Prince-DET 8.0

Any heroes on this board to create Bell appreciation thread?

...we appreciated Bell....and we PAID him way more than he was worth for multiple years! What more appreciation does he or anybody else want? You heard the expression: "So you appreciated me? Then put it in my CHECK!" Well, we put it in his check.

You're not truly celebrating if you're not celebrating in your Snuggie.

On a related note, I was impressed by the t-shirt support that the OKC crowd showed during the playoffs, but we can blow them out of the water if we all wear Snuggies when we meet them in the WCF. Salt Lake could permanently shake it's image of a non-party town... or not.
