Dante Exum - Full SL Highlights

I like him, but he really needs to get stronger. Not bulking up, may be little bit, but strengthening his body. He looks so feeble.

His shooting was bad in SL but at least he has good rotation on the ball and nice arch on the shot.

Yup, part of me worries about this because he had an entire year off basketball just to workout and whatnot, but then again, he is very young and has a lot of time to physically mature.

Exum looks like a dude who is going to be so awful offensively his first year,in terms of getting and creating his own shots, that he is actually going to benefit from it long-term because it will cause him to focus on doing everything else.

Solid solid post

Exum put on a noticeable amount of muscle during that timespan.

I disagree. There are 2 or 3 types of shots that he'll be good at getting/creating (iso driving; pick and roll driving; transition; [and I think he should be encouraged to shoot from his preferred spots]). He'll definitely struggle with the rest. Snyder's job is to help him get those 2 or 3 shots, and help him recognize when he can't get them so he needs to do something else.

You don't have quicks like that and be awful like you say.

Dante's career arc may be like another 18-year-old who went to the NBA straight from high school: Kobe. In his first season (1996-97) he played in 71 games, averaging 7.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 15.5 minutes. He shot 35.5% from 3 and 41.7% overall. In his second season, he played in 79 games, averaging 15.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 26 minutes. He shot 34.1% from 3 and 42.8% overall. In season three, the averaged 19.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 38 minutes. He shot 26.7% from 3 and 46.5% overall. Obviously, Kobe struggled with his shot in his first three years, and I expect the same from Dante. I hope Utah fans are as patient with Dante as Laker fans were with Kobe. There'll be a big payoff down the road.

We will see. Obviously his lack of conditioning probably hampered his offensive ability, and his conditioning can only get better.

let's see who played well as 19 year old nba player........ lebron james..... and that's it. let's give exum some time to develop.

As a 19 year old, Kevin Durant scored 20.3 a game on 43% from the floor, 87% from the line, with 4.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.0 steal, and 0.9 blocks per game.
