Johnny Juzang hype & appreciation thread

Are we ready to start the Ju-Zang Clan yet?

    Where's Locke?

Locke was on his yearly visit to Nate Duncan to discuss the Jazz` season a couple of days ago. I can`t listen to his own podcast anymore, but he is much, much better when he is not running the show.

    Are the Jazz Not Bad?

The NBA would not approva of that. They have specifically warned teams about resting players @ away games. They can obviously find an excuse, but not every time.

    Myles Turner?

They can't extend him. The R&E had too few years to make it legal to extend further. Turner will be a free agent next year, no matter what team he plays for.

    Myles Turner?

You think it is more likely that we give up "some first" than either waive and stretch John Collins or make some trades? I sure hope our front office think differently.

Entire Jazz Team is in Utah

It has been like 5 months since these guys last went to work. The days when you could turn up to training camp out of shape are long gone.

    Myles Turner?

If we really want 30 million in cap space, we can waive and stretch John Collins and not pick up the guaranteed options on Svy and Juzang. If my math is correct, that would give us around $30 million in space. We could get 3 million more if we waive and stretch Collins this year.

    Myles Turner?

I don`t think they can extend him. He did a renegotiation and extensions in January 2023 that put one more year on his deal. AFAIK deals have to be for at least three years to be extension eligble.

    Playing time for development

This has worked out well for OKC. This iteration of the team has not had 5 players 24 or younger play 2000 minutes, but that is mainly becuase SGA aged out last year. If you look at their last few season, their young talent have gotten tons of minutes from the moment they got there.

Jazz, Patty Mills Agree To One-Year, $3.3M Deal

We paid Lauri the maximum we could for this and next year. This deal does not affect that at all.

Which players currently on their rookie deals do you think will be on the Jazz on their second contract?

In terms of who has proven the most so far, you are spot on. My worry is that KG is that kind of player that could command a max contract without him being a player type to be worth it. I don`t see this with TH, but I could obviously be very wrong on both of them.

Which players currently on their rookie deals do you think will be on the Jazz on their second contract?

Looking ahead, the front office has a number of important decisions to make over the next couple of seasons. We have a bunch of rookies that we all hope will turn out to the the best players in the world. We know that a number of them will never be as good as we hope or think. As fans we...

Fan Duel Win Totals -- Jazz at 27.5 wins

I didn't check the opponents schedule, so you are probably correct there, even though I think the Spurs will be much better than us this season .

Fan Duel Win Totals -- Jazz at 27.5 wins

Really? I can't see a single game we will go into as favourites until the Pistons game in December.

    NBA Cup

Since I can`t see any thread on this and the search function is broken, here are the teams we are grouped with in the NBA Cup this season in Group West B: OKC Phoenix Lakers Spurs I wouldn`t put money on us advancing.

ESPN Bet Sets Jazz O/U at 28.5

Ouch. The last game had to be the Kobe-retirement game IIRC?

What next moves do you WANT to see?

I am not sure Lavine would be too much of a negative salary wise for our team. If we keep and extend Walker Kessler, he will be on a new deal after two seasons. The same applies for Collin Sexton. The rest of our guys - and i exclude Collins and our new veteran center here - are all on their...

Shams: Utah and Lauri expected to agree to long term deal

Because there are different kind of maxes. From year 3 to 5, Lauri`s deal will be below the 30% max. Most other contenders have at least one player earning a 35% max. We actually have no way of paying anyone the 35% max unless we trade for someone already on it. If we are ready to contend i...

What next moves do you WANT to see?

Ideally I`d like to see two out of three of our vets moved for an injured or totally washed player. If Lavine needs to sit out most or all of the year, I`d consider him if they are willing to give up picks even though he has 3 years left. MIddleton would be an option of he gets injured, as would...

    Lauri re-signs for 5 years 238 million

The age of players taking less is over, isn`t it. Jaylen Brown demanded and got his full max last year to stay in Boston. The stars in Miami and LA are all on their maxes so why would we be any different?
