I’m fine if they keep Lauri - even if the plan is to tank one more season. But they absolutely have to trade Sexton, Collins and Clarkson this offseason. Jazz need to still be in asset accumulation mode right now.

I don’t think the Jazz can blatantly tank their way to a bottom 3 record like they did this year. If that’s the plan, they’ll probably need to tear the house down to the studs and then burn the frame to the foundation to crap out at that level. Get what you can out of Lauri, JC/JC and Sexton...

The only hope the Jazz have of Minnesota possibly ending up in the lottery is if Memphis finishes strong - including beating Minnesota when they play them - and then something absolutely crazy happening in the play-in.

Best case scenario (obviously) is getting #1 or #2. Feel like both those guys are sure things. After that, you’d better do your homework. . . but I do think any of Bailey, VJ or Johnson all have All-NBA potential if they land in the right spot.

I think VJ slightly edges (pun intended) Johnson for me because I really liked what he did during the Olympic qualifying rounds for the Bahamas - pre-Baylor.

Unless somebody crazy falls to them (which I don’t see happening) they won’t have the roster spots available. Maybe you get a guy for a 2-way spot, but I’d probably just bet on your highest rated international guy.

This. Jazz need talent. Even though there’s a pretty big gap between Flagg and Johnson, there’s an even bigger drop off after that. Jazz need to lock in a top 5 pick and add some more talent to this team.

Right now, the Jazz would be guaranteed a top 5 pick. Assuming they don’t trade it, they walk away with one of Flagg, Harper, Bailey, Edgecomb or Johnson. Also assuming the Wolves pick ends up somewhere between 17 - 21. Who is the guy you want the most that should realistically be there?

Especially if they’re not nearly as bad next year because they managed to do it while keeping Lauri Markkanen, Walker Kessler, John Collins, Collin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson.

That’s going to be a Wild, Wild, West level of a ****-show.

If you’re in that boat, I’d say the risk of injury is higher than just going now and working to make the best of the situation. If you’re good enough to make it in the NBA, you shouldn’t put it off.
