You're wrong. Have you ever seen the strongest men competitions? It's well known that gaining weight (which means fat, since muscle take ages to build) while body building allows u to lift more. It's why people have a bulking and cutting phases.

The way it was originally intended really sucked though. I think in the 90s we reached a nice balance, where you could have your hand on the side of the ball, allowing nice crossovers. But the modern style of basically palming the ball on every dribble is a bit much.

Loads of MVP talents were picked outside of top few picks. Two of the last 3 MVPs, Shai, Kawhi,Booker, Mitchell, Haliburton. Basically 50-50 whether a current top talent was picked in the top 10. But yeah, it stands to reason that the higher the pick, the better the chances.
