Jazz sign Darius Bazley to a 3 year NG

You could say that but clearly Jokic improved due to fitness while you cannot say the same for fatter Shaq.

Jazz sign Darius Bazley to a 3 year NG

    Momentum.

Comparable rookie years to Keyonte's. (I thought I had linked just the PER 36 min section of each player) Just look at the rookie year Per 36 min

The article was about giving players who haven't got PT some action. Don't see where she said that.

Jazz sign Darius Bazley to a 3 year NG

Wasn't like he was more experienced, developed more skills, had more knowledge of the game. The improvement was all based on his improved (higher) body mass index. I'm convinced.

Jazz sign Darius Bazley to a 3 year NG

Yeah I think Cy is confusing "momentum" with "strength" Take two sumo wrestlers with equal strength. The fat one wins because you can't move him and because he can move you. Same for offensive linemen.

Jazz sign Darius Bazley to a 3 year NG

How does one get strength from fat? I'd like to see the physiological explanation behind that one.

Who are your 'untouchables" with this coming off-season?

I don’t get the concept of untouchable. If the Jazz trade for Trae young, do they declare key untouchable? No, he’s in the trade If the Jazz trade for doncic, do they say Lauri is untouchable? No, he’s in the trade. It’s all a matter of relative value.

The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Preserved draft status. But how did it help or hinder development and long term success?

The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Not wise for an 18 year old to take a year off basketball (2023-14) to preserve his draft status. His agent knew his brand had peaked and if he crapped out in college ball his stock would fall. Good short term, bad long term strategy.

The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

A little. But he is so ball dominant, if you look at turnovers per touch, I bet it is not bad. A good metric would be TO per team possession while he is on the floor.

The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Exum made a strategic mistake by prioritizing preservation of his draft status over development when he was a kid. Wrong trajectory.

Not to mention up to 3 rookies

Jazz trade Olynyk and Ochai to Toronto for Kira Lewis, Otto Porter, and a 2024 1st round pick

If the trade is about KO to me it means they think they have a better shot at his next deal if he is already on the team. Because they could have him in free agency and they are going nowhere this year.

Do you want our pick to convey this year?

Fair point. When you get to the point where one party insists that "want" equals "prefer" we are debating irrefutable facts about language and it is time to move on. Thanks for the prompt, my life partner is calling, ;-)

Do you want our pick to convey this year?

So from my agreement that we "want" 2024 picks, you logically conclude that we "prefer/ target/ favor/ prioritize" 2024 picks. Similarly, let's say I want a chocolate bar. From this you would obviously conclude that I prefer chocolate bars to ice cream. And I would give up a quart of ice...

Do you want our pick to convey this year?

Point out where I argued that we didn’t want 2024 picks. Good luck, lol. I’m not going to re litigate because it is clear that you are being deliberately obtuse after your argument has been dismantled.

2023-2024 Western Conference Regular Season Prediction Contest

@One Brow Is it the 3rd week of Jan yet? ;-).

Do you want our pick to convey this year?

No doubt. It just seems to me that they got them with some sensible deals.
