Was gonna write something similar. I didn't like the fit either but without Rubio, we would be in a much different situation currently. He & Snyder both deserve a ton of credit for the improvements/integration into the offense. DL as well for identifying the untapped potential & cultural fit.

Hayward+ for Kawhi makes sense but I can't see Stevens signing off. Although Ainge is the type of GM that might pull the trigger anyway. Imagine if signing Hayward turned out to be their undoing..
