BOS is the only team I really see as a match, which is likely another reason this won't happen. They have a tremendous surplus of high-end assets/future draft picks, a need for a defensive Center, & a desire to contend now.

He is one of the premier young building blocks for sure, I'm just skeptical that we can afford to play it safe. His talent likely justifies at least giving it a shot but starting the transition a year (or 2) too late could potentially prohibit us from contending in the long-run IMO.

Good point regarding the volatility of prospects but we would have multiple chances to hit on high-end talent with the acquired assets + our own likely top 10 pick(s) rather than tanking for a specific player.

Absolutely. This about the competitive state of the league & our lack of high-end assets beyond Gobert, not his talent. He has the potential to be a top 5 player IMO. I just don't see how we get another Rudy caliber player or contend without doing so.
