Maybe i'm overly optimistic but I don't mind it. Sure he eats into potential Dok minutes but at the end of the day it's insurance at little cost. If Dok is ****ing **** up then Whiteside is very disposable and not going to cost a lot to get rid of. If Dok isn't cutting it and needs more...
Don't know how much I trust it but apparently he called Ruddy signing his extension before anyone else.
But if true I like 3/60 a whole lot better than 3/75 now just need to get a team option on year 3 and it's golden.
Doing a full watch through of this and Butler is going to THRIVE in the Jazz PnR offense. Can make defenders pay for going under screens and is always looking for open guys on the wings when there are over rotations.
What's going to be interesting is if this goes through. Are the Jazz comfortable with giving the backup C role to Dok or is this move going to be made with the intention of bringing in someone on a vet min? Personally wouldn't be surprised if they take the wait and see approach to see what...
From ESPN's draft recap:
Which second-round pick will most likely be an All-Star first?

Go back even further to 2013. Jazz drafted Gobert at #27 when Kanter was going into year 2 and Favors into year 3. Butler has a chance to be that type of player where in a few years the rest of the NBA is sitting there saying "Maybe he shouldn't of slipped all the way into the 2nd round."
If Jazz take Butler at 40 that might be the best outcome possible. Yes could've just taken him at 30 but you get the non guarantee contract at 40 in case his heart isn't 100%
