The Biden Administration and All Things Politics

Not sure of the comparison between an entity receiving a PPP loan (and it subsequently being forgiven), and student loan forgiveness for individuals. When businesses or entities applied for PPP Loans, it was for the purpose of retaining employees during a period in which governments were...

The Biden Administration and All Things Politics

They way people use the term fascism varies wildly. I wouldn't necessarily call any of this fascism, but there are elements of authoritarianism, anti-liberalism, and autocracy. Again, I'm not agreeing that it is fascism, but with such a broad term people are going to use it how they see fit. I...

Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

I'm guessing NY would need to send some salaries out to LA.

    Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Saw on RealGM that there is some discussion of Bogey going to Raptors. Might be waiting for the Mitchell trade to get done. I have no idea what Bogey can bring back in a trade. A first and second? Have to assume he has a little more value than Royce.

Woj says the Jazz are listening to offers for Mitchell

Not sure Phoenix or Brookly would go for this.

Woj says the Jazz are listening to offers for Mitchell

Perfect. Let's suck for two years and then wreck the league. Searching nbadraft.net to spot any future Dante Exums.

Woj says the Jazz are listening to offers for Mitchell

I think after DM is traded we are going to figure out if he is a winning player, or a high volume scorer that doesn't actually help you win. Part of me wonders if DM asked for this once he saw that the return for Gobert wasn't going to do much for the Jazz in 22-23. Can't blame Gobert any more.

Woj says the Jazz are listening to offers for Mitchell

So isn't Trading Mitchell and tanking for 2023 the best plan, considering we have our own 2023 pick (correct?). I'm not sure which of our own picks we still have, but I think Locke said we don't have our own 2024 pick. As of right now I don't think we have any picks for 2024 (unless we get one...

    4th of July and Religion

Great thoughts here. I wouldn't consider myself "overly-patriotic", but I love my country and consider myself fortunte to live here. Despite what some might suggest, there are a lot of places much worse. Overall, we are certainly less patriotic of a country than we were a generation or two ago...

Andy Larsen: The Jazz wanted to cancel the black/yellow/gold but couldn't

Even more than the ugly jerseys, I feel like this move doesn't respect the history of our franchise. If the Lakers, Celtics, Bulls, etc. got new ownership, and the owners changed their jerseys/color scheme to this degree, they would be crucified. We are a franchise with a rich history. We've...

Snyder to step down - Woj

As long as management and ownership are making the decision purely based on their perception of the coach's ability to help us win (I assume that's their primary objective), I'm good with it. I'm not sure fans are ever really in a good position to judge a coaching hire until games start...

The next step: Don't educate children at all

I understand the concept of the "free rider problem", but I'm not sure it would manifest itself as much if everyone was left to their own devices to negotiate the terms of employment. If a company had half their workforce under a union, and half not, the half not a part of the union get zero of...

The next step: Don't educate children at all

Undue pressure is subjective, but generally yes. Businesses should not be able to stop or limit employees from unionizing. That being said, the government shouldn't intervene in the relationship between the employer and the union. There is a lot of power in joining a collective to negotiate the...

The next step: Don't educate children at all

Totally agree on that, provided they only need to join the organization (union) of their own free will, and the government doesn't grant any special priviliges to either the employer or organized group of employees.

The next step: Don't educate children at all

Governments can't pay for anything without first taxing citizens, or borrowing (to be re-paid in the future by taxpayers). So, taxpayers are paying for all of it. Let a lot more people in legally, simplify the process, and don't criminalize low-skilled workers from accepting employment that...

Game Thread Apr 28, 2022 08:00PM MT: Jazz vs. Mavericks - Game 6

Just when this season couldn't get any more disheartening, Dooling gets busted as a crook and Rudy gets attacked by a bee right before an elimination game. Definitely a season I won't soon forget, but for all the wrong reasons.

    I Don't Blame The Players

As fans, we always have a propensity to blame management and coaching. The reality is that there is plenty of blame to go around. Without question we have a collection of very good players that should be performing better. It's hard for me to blame management when they were able to draft and...

Game Thread Apr 25, 2022 7:30PM MT: Jazz at Mavericks - Game 5

I'm still trying to comprehend why we can't score on these guys. Remember all the chatter about us being the #1 offense in the NBA? What a joke.

Do you like next season's supposed jerseys?

Is this legit? Those are terrible. I understand an occasional tweak to the jerseys, or an alternative jersey now and then, but we've gone through too many drastic color and jersey changes over the past decade. I know we are not the Celtics or Lakers, but there is value in consistency and tradition.
