I'm pretty sure Hardy decided to call the timeout at the point when he saw Sexton going sideways with Rui in front of him. I mean I don't think he would've done it after Sexton had already passed Rui (that's when we heard the whistle). But whatever, a nice L for the draft.

This is a pretty fascinating draft. One of the most exciting drafts I’ve ever followed. Egor Demin has been my guy for a while now. Special talent no doubt. At the moment, my top 3 are Flagg, Demin, and Harper (in no particular order).

Sure. It's easier said than done to trade any of these players, except Kessler perhaps. Danny probably tried it in the offseason. But I'm pretty sure he'll be at it again before the trade deadline.

I hope Danny has similar lists prepared. Given the quality of the 2025 draft, the tank battle after the trade deadline will be fierce.

Well, we know he’s not an iso player (although it seems like he’s working on it this year), but he would obviously get more field goal attempts if he played on a team that had good playmakers and moved the ball.

Would be a massive mistake for the Jazz not to set themselves up this season for great odds in this draft. Watching all the stud prospects go to other teams would be unbearable.

Lauri made just 8 field goal attempts in this game and has averaged only 11.8 attempts per game this season. This pretty well sums up our current roster. Except for Flip and Collier, none of our players have the natural talent, awareness, or willingness to make plays and move the ball.

It must be frustrating for Hardy to watch his players not pass when a pass to an open 3-point shooter is available. This happened a few times again last night with Clarkson, Sexton, and Collins, who paid no attention to Lauri, Flip, and Juzang being open behind the 3-point line.

Hardy obviously wanted to win this game, like all the other games this season so far. He played Clarkson a lot in the fourth quarter rather than Flip because Clarkson is a veteran and maybe also because he won us the last game, but this backfired on Hardy because Clarkson was the one who lost...

I hope this clip shows a play we could see a lot in the future when the Jazz are a contender.

I hope the last game isn’t a sign of what’s ahead. Although Danny and Zanik must have told Hardy this season is about developing and evaluating our young players and not about winning, Hardy still used his veteran players as much as he could in the fourth quarter, trying to win the game.

Cody is so young that, like our other young guys, we don’t know yet what he’ll be in a few years. I think he should stay and keep doing what he’s been doing - learning the ropes.
