Man, the headlines I see for Draymond’s podcast are so misleading. As others pointed out, while he did throw a few digs at Rudy he mostly took Rudy’s on this one.
I stopped rooting for them to lose a few weeks ago. While I maintain that trying to improve the odds of getting Victor is the best strategy for the long-term for this franchise that is clearly not the direction the team is going, so it doesn’t do me any good to fight it. Go Jazz!
How good do you think Lauri is? I’m surprised to be reading comments that his play should alter the Jazz timeline. Are people viewing him as a legit #1 option? Do you see him as someone who could be a top 10 player in the league?
Does that mean someone needs to tell Ainge? Or is Ainge seeing something others are not.

OKC has some of Houston’s picks; Houston as Brooklyn’s picks: Brooklyn has Phoenix’s picks… the Wolves, Cavs, Lakers, Clipppers, Bucks, 76ers all have/had multiple picks owed. It’s getting too much to keep track of!
The protections on the pick really killed it for me. There are few things I enjoy more than rooting for the Lakers to lose, but now in 2027 I have to hope they lose but don’t lose too much…
In my opinion that’s why the Lakers may want him. Gives them a chance to improve their roster this year while maintaining cap flexibility this summer. Beasley works for them in that regard as well.
Definitely a little jealous. I have felt good about the trades and decision to rebuild, but seeing Don play this way does feed into the “what if” machine a bit. It’s like seeing your ex thrive in a new relationship.
The Chicago Bulls ended up with the 2nd and 4th pick in 2001. That is as close as I can recall in the NBA.
They picked Tyson Chandler and Eddie Curry. Good reminder that draft picks aren’t always what you hope they’ll be.
I hear you, and mostly agree. I do think for some, however, the “what if” possibilities can keep some excitement and intrigue throughout the year. Very little of that will be about the on-the-court action of course, but watching college and international games, listening to scouting and draft...
Do you feel the same if those picks were ‘23 and ‘25? Can’t remember where I heard it, but believe one of the rumors swirling was the Knicks were unwilling to offer unprotected picks that extended too far out into the future:
A hard cap would definitely change everything. Admittedly I think it’s a little hard to predict exactly how it would change things, but it would be interesting.
I generally am against tanking, especially year after year. However, it does give fans of non-contending teams something else to get...
The Wolves might very well be one of top regular season teams in the league. Wouldn’t surprise me at all, especially with other veteran teams likely doing some load management for the regular season.
