Measured and respectable. For myself, my man crush won’t allow it.

Curious to know why so low on WCJ? Just unproven or do you have significant doubts?

    Jazz in Talks with Wong

2-way or E10 would make sense. Not sure who we'd bump from the 15-man roster. Doubt it's Harkless. He was a bucket in college. If this offseason is any indicator, Austin Ainge wants dudes who score the ball.

    Clayton or Collier?

The good news the org doesn't really have to "pick." My guess is WCJ gets multiple shots on goal to grab the job. But if he sucks, and Collier doesn't, well there you go. I just don't see it shaking out that way.

Burying the dumb **** about Clayton Jr not being "athletic"

The clutch shooting in the tournament was other-worldly. There has been plenty of one-man NCAA Tournament runs but I can't remember one guy hitting so many dagger shots.

    Clayton or Collier?

This, to me, is the main signal. Given the state of the roster, I don't think they do that if AA is enamored (or even impressed) with Collier. He's getting his guys and his guys are going to get every chance to play. Feels pretty simple.

NBA Summer League Wild Overreaction Thread

Completely agree. AND - still love to watch it. It's fun. Nothing beats immediate boom-or-bust hot takes after 1-2 fake games. Not to mention - there's literally nothing else going right now. Smack in the middle of the MLB All-Star break, it's brilliantly timed.

    2025 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread

If we're as bad as I think we could be this season I just wonder if / when that starts to take a toll on Lauri mentally. I'm sure he'll still be a pro but he's really the only seasoned guy who will get rotation minutes. Kessler, Keyonte, etc. are still pups in their own right. Just something...

Burying the dumb **** about Clayton Jr not being "athletic"

He's at least sufficiently athletic but I get people who have concerns on that piece. It doesn't explode off the screen and he does at least look a bit small out there.

Hope we see Ace / Walt but tbh if I’m Ainge I probably just sit them.

    Walter Clayton Jr. Hype Thread

His "floor is Michael Jordan" - lol. And he wasn't even the #1 player on the board.

    "Sweetness"

This nickname really should catch on. Walter Payton. Walter Clayton. There's a clear "sweetness" to his game. It's just too perfect.

Game Thread Jul 14, 2025 06:30pm: Jazz Vs Spurs (Summer League)

I panned the Flip pick last year. Absolutely hated it. Mostly emotional. I hate the Dukies and NGL he seemed like a total weirdo. But how he went in the 2nd round in maybe the worst draft of all-time is unreal. He is so good offensively that his defense might not even matter. Best player in...

    Rookie Contract Power Rankings

I'm ranking them in order of my own perceived likelihood that they're a long-term piece here, not necessarily who's better for us on the court at this moment. Kessler Ace WCJ Flip Keyonte Hendricks Brice Collier Cody This feels really punitive towards Collier based on the season he had but 1)...

    Following Potential 2025 Draftees

That's an interesting comment to me. My bias is that most / all rookies will be a disaster defensively. The Sochans / Carter Bryants of the world are a rarity. Tre is a good athlete, long, and seems to have a great attitude. Regardless of how bad he is now that sounds like a recipe for a...

    Following Potential 2025 Draftees

In terms of "best-case" scenario, Ace is probably #2 in this class. I would guess Harper has a higher floor, but I don't see him having a higher ceiling. I'd prob peg the top 5 in terms of "upside" as follows: 1. Flagg 2. Ace 3. VJ 4. Harper 5. Tre Maluach is probably up there as well, just...

    Clayton or Collier?

To me Walt flashes a little Brunson, Steph, and Lillard (these aren't "comps," don't freak out on me). I don't think he uses his strength as well as Brunson. And If I recall he's not as long (maybe nowhere near as long) as Dame. But his footwork, ability to get to his spots, and ability to...

    Eww

It's plausible but feels pretty awkward at best for all 3 teams. Dubs get minimal value for Kuminga, LAL cap straps themselves to a good-but-probably-not-good-enough core, and the Jazz do not get enough value back for parting with Walker AND Flip. Even if they're unprotected picks, I hesitate...

    Clayton or Collier?

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. Collier will be Shaq-like at 28.

    Clayton or Collier?

Brunson is also 28 and already has his "man strength." Walt is an old-man by draft standards but is still only 22. He'll naturally get stronger as he reaches peak maturity. And it's not like Brunson set the world on fire in years 1 and 2. It definitely took him time.
