We're tanking and Will has to keep the team together. At this point in the season for a tanking team players are going to go out and get theirs.
I saw a hand full of possession where Keyonte tried to bring the ball up the court but Sexton denied him. Good veteran-ish move to say hey youngster...
Agree, I don't think that comment means we intend him to be part of our core. The issue I am still wrestling with is the fact that our Backcourt is bad defensively, and we will not take a significant step forward until we improve our backcourt defense. Turnover in our backcourt is inevitable...
THT core issue to me goes back to his Laker days and that's his extreme tunnel vision. He's just doesn't play team basketball. He did make some significant improvements this year.
Our team is really soft. I'm not sure how we prioritize toughness in team building, but man Lauri, Walker, Keyonte and Taylor get man handled regularly. Rooks get a pass but man we have to get more physical.
Those picks looked good tonight. DA to Lauri: "We really want you to stick around but if not oh well your not a top-10 player anyway and routinely enough you disappear from games. Matter of fact tonight was legends day (I think) and I'd expect you to show out in front of some Jazz great. I guess...
Do the Jazz really believe Colin Sexton is a long-term piece. It's been reported the Jazz (Danny) really believe in positional size, where does that leave Colin. I believe we've gotten conflicting messages on this.
You summed it up well! I would make a small edit to "brink of contention" and change to "develop into a competitive playoff team" I think the "brink of contention" comes after the big internal leap or we get the big fish. Great post.
