This trade is bad -- selling 10 million of cap space for a very late first is terrible value since there are teams every year who will sell late firsts outright for 3 million (we just did that for Gobert if I remember correctly.)
But the principle is sound. We should not be active in the FA...
His only shot is college. He will never be an NBA head coach again. He's a nice guy, but behind the times, and not creative enough to adapt to the modern game.
Zero chance Boylen is hired. No "new" GM, making his first hire, is going to risk his future on a wildly unpopular coach. Lindsey can easily survive a failed Name Coach, can most likely survive a Messina, but a Boylen failure could be catastrophic to his reputation.
My vote is still for Karl.
Again, just a reminder:
Orlando: Afflalo 6 minutes, Oladipo 17.
Boston: SAT Rondo, Sullinger, Humprhies, and Bayless.
Utah: Played Burke, Burks, Hayward, and Favors 40 minutes.
Unbelievable shortsightedness. Win or lose, you can't play Burke, Burks, Hayward, Favors 30 plus in this game. Boston SAT Rondo, Humphries, Sullinger, and Bayless.
You can't come this far and not secure the loss. Orlando played Afflalo 6 minutes and Oladipo 17. They weren't about to let a sleepwalking Indiana lose. We need Lucas, Rush, Murphy, and Clarke. Minny obviously does not care.
