This is gonna sound crazy, but I think there's a chance for the defense to take big, nonlinear step forward. If that happens, then the tank doesn't look good.
I certainly wouldn't trade Keyonte for Flemming.
Neither Sexton, Collins, or Clarkson make any sense for MIN or Boston—so we'd have to use future picks. If we're trading vets, then we'd have to hope Flemming slips to 33 (Charlotte). And, of course, Charlotte has to be interested.
These kids will probably get over it. Experience will teach them that the Jazz aren't a dysfunctional org; and they'll definitely see some dysfunctional orgs.
If Ace is locked-in on defense and Hendricks comes back 100%, then Ace-Hendricks-Kessler-Lauri will impact our winning percentage by improving our abysmal defense last year. I would not bet on a top-3 draft pick if we keep Lauri. I'll push all my chips in on a different outcome than that.
A tank requires trading Clarkson, Sexton, and Collins—at minimum. Replace their shots with shots from Ace, WCJ, Sensabaugh, Cody, Key, Collier. Trading Lauri is the big question mark.
It hurts that 31 used to be ours.
What does MIN need? A lot, for sure. But do we have something? EDIT: I don't see anything. Maybe they would swap out Conley for a shooter + money savings?
Your real question is whether he can continue to act like the littlest brother troll. The answer has always been yes.
It astounds me how this dude continues to be tolerated with a giggle.
