Burks has the quickness, but it's still a big question mark. I guess I'm optimistic that he can improve his technique with the right coaching. Does he struggle more guarding point guards than two guards? I'm not sure. Maybe.
I like the wing rotation too.
Whenever Burks shoots in a catch-and-shoot, I expect it to go in (just like whenever Trey puts up a shot, my first thought is "rebound!"). Burks has had a habit of taking a lot of wild midrange shots. I think he's correcting that.
Am I the only one that thinks we might see a 3 guard rotation...
DJ basically said this same thing on the radio last season, and also that Kanter has poor lateral quickness. His opinion was that Kanter's defensive deficiencies are NOT fixable. Either way, I'm SO glad it's not our problem anymore.
It was Kanter's choice? Didn't know players could trade themselves. No wonder we got such a poor return for him. It's a good thing Karl Malone didn't know about this back when HE demanded a trade.
Here's some common sense. Usually, when an employee complains about every other person in an organization, it's a pretty good indicator that employee has a bad attitude. There are probably exceptions, but I've never encountered one. Enes threw EVERYBODY under the bus .. teammates, media, fans...
"hippity hop across the timeline"
"home cookin'"
"you coulda hung your wash on that one"
"here come those pesky timberwolves"
"Ricky Green, the fastest of them all"
"Jazz win!" - Hot Rod probably didn't coin this phrase, but he said it a lot.
Larry Miller told a story about one of the Barry brothers on the radio. One of them said something like "hey, my contract runs out this year" as he was walking past Miller's seat during a game (maybe during warmup). I was thinking it was Jon. Was there a 3rd Barry brother?
I was really excited about Luther Wright. I thought Blue Edwards would be a star. I wanted Ed Davis over Hayward. Couldn't stand Mark Eaton. I thought Klay Thompson and Khawi Leonard would be total busts.
I give Rudy a slight edge over Eaton. Probably drinking the Kool-aid (I know).
Eaton could clog the lane like nobody else. It would be interesting to see him in a zone defense. But the rule change nullifies his goto move on offense (i.e. standing outside the 3 pt line and pointing for an...
Was thinking the same thing about Favors. He's almost exactly the same age Karl Malone was his second year in the league. That was kind of a break-out year for Karl. Not saying he's going to be another Mailman, but maybe we haven't seen his ceiling yet.
