Probably is. 2011 (Kawhi, Kyrie, Klay, Butler) and 2009 (Steph, Harden, Blake, Jrue, DeRozan) were supposed to be terrible drafts and they ended up being better than average.
It’s important to note that Clayton is two years older than Collier.
If Collier’s shot is indeed just broken than it’s probably WCJ by default since that’s basically a requirement for the position.
So, if Collier can learn to shoot it at >/=35% from 3 on respectable volume and 80% from the...
I think Tre is definitely a better shooter and possibly a better scorer overall, but the difference between their defense from baseline to best-case scenario is tilted WAY in favor of Ace which is why I still ultimately kept him 3 on my board.
This thread works great. Not sure that the particular Summer League is more important than that it’s a bunch of young players and other NBA hopefuls playing bad basketball.
I don’t think great games in Summer League mean much, but I think REALLY BAD gameS probably do. Kas might be cooked.
I’m saying this as a pretty loud member of the Kas Klub and will take my lumps if that’s where this is headed.
I’m not seeing the reason for this boundless optimism based on summer league play. Not saying he’s cooked or anything, this just seems like a weird time to have these sentiments.
I sure hope he didn’t feel like getting ~2 picks, 2 swaps, Kuminga, and Moody is LOSING a trade. I think it’s more the case that if he doesn’t embarrass the other team then it’s not worth it which is a really stupid way to go about business and was a criticism of his methodology before he was...
Like if he’s a real rare breed PG a la CP3/Nash/whatever in terms of impact, that is a great pick at 5, I don’t care what era or draft you’re talking about.
I mean, creating the super max is fairly recent and was done to incentivize franchise players to re-sign with their incumbent teams and by that measure has been wildly successful. They might tinker but the idea is here to stay. At minimum, it theoretically allows teams to at least not lose...
Probably. I guess I should say: if we’re doing an RFA poach, then I prefer Grimes most. But I think I prefer staying gutted and renting space in this environment where a bunch of teams are clearly trying to move off salary ASAP due to the apron penalties.
Grimes can pass and reliably shoot a basketball which is more than you can say for Kuminga or Giddey. We desperately need anyone that does any kind of connective/facilitative ****.
