Utah Jazz Select Ace Bailey, Pick 5

One of the reasons I think his paint/rim numbers can improve is how quick he is on and off his feet. I think he’s been settling a bit and operating off of some antiquated assumptions that don’t consider math almost at all.

Utah Jazz Select Ace Bailey, Pick 5

Getting that NOP/MIL pick somehow. It will land top-7, almost guaranteed.

Utah Jazz Select Ace Bailey, Pick 5

My rule is 1 inch plus rounding (usually up).

Sure, but it’s not like he has the horses either.

    Should The Jazz Waive Juzang?

Doesn’t he just have perpetual team options on a minimum contract? If so, I’m pretty sure they could just choose to waive him as needed but that the team is locked into the (rather small) cap hit for the current season. Juzang is a good, cheap player. You don’t often find much better when...

You make some fine points but it’s not going to be a 1st… though maybe they’d do a lottery-protected, but those become a nightmare for the sending team regarding their ability to trade other 1sts. I need to take a look at what they have available, maybe they have another team’s 1st that is...

They saved a lot more money in the Jrue and Porzingis deals and didn’t give up a 1st. They also got under the 2nd apron already (still in the LT, though).

The Celtics didn’t retain so much draft capital by throwing around picks in salary dumps. They have to send something, but it ain’t a 1st.

    Following Potential 2026 Draftees

I don’t want to be premature but I don’t really like Dybantsa. Players that big aren’t supposed to be quick so I’m probably overreacting, but he doesn’t strike me as particularly quick. I think Ace looks substantially better at the same level of competition, just as a comparison. Maybe he’s...

I really want to figure out a way to get that ‘26 NOP/MIL pick. I still don’t think the Hawks have a competent front office, I think they fell backwards into a heist. I think that is the most valuable pick you could get right now and I have no idea what the **** New Orleans was thinking. One of...

In light of drafting Ace and him (desperately) needing people around him that might be able to provide real positive influence/mentorship, we should go get Dame, even if the compensation to take on his contract is slight or maybe even non-existent.

Could the Jazz Milk Washington if The Ace Saga Sours?

You will have to prove this. This would be an insane policy to allow.

Is Ace Bailey the best draft prospect in Utah Jazz history?

We are making the assessment the day after a player is drafted, not in hindsight after they’ve entered their prime years. That’s what makes them a “prospect”.

If the Jazz can’t figure out a way to get Naz Reid pried away (by helping someone else clear requisite space), then this is a great use of space IMO. At best, losing Conley will not make them better, and I’m pretty sure he’s still doing some serious lifting for their culture.

Utah Jazz Select Walter Clayton Jr, Pick 18 (Trade)

If it doesn’t he might waive a towel.

Utah Jazz Select Walter Clayton Jr, Pick 18 (Trade)

Kas was coming back from injury, is three years younger, bigger, and vastly more skilled on the ball. WCJ is a grinder and clutch, no doubt. As to whether that translates to the NBA level is a big question. Trey Burke was also clutch as all hell and that never mattered.
