Zack Lowe: Fix the Lottery to take away need for tanking

You're assuming that would even affect teams that can't attract free agents. Just look at where our own free agents went to: Atlanta and Charlotte and Portland. All 3 teams are warmer weather. 2 are larger markets. Granted, that would give them more incentive to go to a team without a hard...

Zack Lowe: Fix the Lottery to take away need for tanking

Guys, you can't apply this to the past. Players like these don't exist anymore. It's all "one and done" players now. They have no experience and need time to get better. We actually have a lot of high lottery picks on this team and we stink. You guys think a balanced draft would be better...

Zack Lowe: Fix the Lottery to take away need for tanking

Yep, you're giving the big market teams another huge advantage here. Free agency, resources, premier coaches (would Jackson ever consider coaching a smaller market team?), and now you've given them a balanced draft. Big market teams didn't need that advantage and now you're handing it to them...

Zack Lowe: Fix the Lottery to take away need for tanking

You're assuming way too much. It's been pointed out that just because they pick at these positions doesn't mean those players would be available at those positions. Trades, team needs, etc, would change every draft dramatically. Think about it. If a team is already good, and they get a top 6...

Draft Game - Jazz land 3rd pick, Wigs&Jarbi both gone. Who do you take?

True, but what separates him, for me, is that he never backs down from anyone. The other video shows him going hard right at Wiggins. I love how he bumps people off-balance similar to what Shaq did. That's really hard to stop, especially if you're a shot blocker. You'd constantly be kept...

Draft Game - Jazz land 3rd pick, Wigs&Jarbi both gone. Who do you take?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdsY62qaCoA Of course, I know many of you saw this game, but this is what sold me on him. "Terrific strength and terrific concentration". Plus, he has amazing body control and touch around the rim.

Draft Game - Jazz land 3rd pick, Wigs&Jarbi both gone. Who do you take?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYpwWYw7lvc Not sure if any of you have seen this, but this the highlights from the Nike Peach Jam. Andrew Wiggins Vs Julius Randle! - Wiggins, shows me in this game that given the green light, he really can be an amazing player. He's always watching where...

    Call Lindsey 801-844-2701

I used to be guitaro_jazz. Shocker, I know! ;-) I don't see the big deal with alts as long as people don't misuse them to be rude or hateful to others. Although, there's always people that do. It's easier for them to act out a "character" when you're hiding behind a "mask". I just talk...

    Keep Steve Brown fire Boler

I actually don't mind Boler. Matt is a bit too combative and probably makes Boler feel bad all the time. No joke. Booner was really forgetful the last couple years but has been much better this year. Steve Brown reminds me of my dad. Just a genuinely nice guy who gets along with everyone...

    Corbin disrespect Kanter

Sounds good on paper, however, it doesn't take a whole year to see if a player is good for the team or not. Keep in mind, there are all the practices that we don't see either. Smart players make the most of their time on the court by being efficient. Evans, for the most part, has been...

    Corbin disrepecting Burke

As for Corbin, I really don't get the Hayward experiment either. I'm seeing more hero ball from Hayward, in the 4th quarter, than running the offense efficiency. I know the Jazz want to find that go-to-player but in a team offense, that doesn't always exist.

    Corbin disrepecting Burke

Using ANY word in a hurtful manner has never been "okay".

I don't see how Kanter can succeed as a Jazz

Why do people continue to compare him to Dirk? He has good footwork and nice shooting touch but nowhere near the body control and basketball IQ. I mentioned in another thread that a true stretch 4 works better with Favors than another slower big. I think the Bucks could really use...

    Kanter for???

Like I said, it would have to include more parts, like a bad contract. Kanter can be a center piece for an offense, for sure. He's more than shown that he can be a 20-10 guy. It's just not with the current pieces we have on this team.

    Kanter for???

I love Kanter, but I'm seeing the direction this team is going and Kanter is looking like the odd-man out. I do agree that he does have a world of talent. I just think he would do really well on a team like the Bucks. Plus, he would give them much needed personality and locker room presence...

    Guys on the Waiver Wire

Back to basketball, I thought Jarvis Varnado was a good player. Although, Gobert and Evans makes him a bit redundant. I'm surprised Miami didn't keep him. Then again, they probably were waiting to see what Oden could do. That's Oden with an e.

Where's all the Burks Hate Now? ? ?

LOL, yeah. Him and Sloan were the best. Frank Layden was awesome but I was still too young to appreciate and remember his repertoire. :)

Hayward & Jazz - not close to agreement (Hayward leaving 4/40 on the table)

More money doesn't automatically equal "smart decision". There are so many more factors that can affect someone's lifetime than money. Surroundings and people you're surrounded with affect you so much more than your income. In reality, his income actually limits his options because...

Hayward & Jazz - not close to agreement (Hayward leaving 4/40 on the table)

That is a good point, and I did make a similar point somewhere else, but it's important not to tie up too much $ when we will need it. The Jazz need to decide when they think they'll need to start spending money on free agents. Next, like u said below your above post, maybe give Hayward a...
