Hayward & Jazz - not close to agreement (Hayward leaving 4/40 on the table)

That's exactly the kind of thinking that got us stuck with AK's contract and mediocrity for years to come. There's only so much cap space available. If you tie up nearly half of that with 2 players, those 2 players better be your two best players long-term, not right now when we stink.

Where's all the Burks Hate Now? ? ?

Karl is awesome! He makes some great points. However, the physicality of the game has changed quite a bit since he played. Players are more interested in being buddies than destroying their opponents. It's been heading that way for a long time now. Still, that is a good point not to...

Where's all the Burks Hate Now? ? ?

LOL! That is a bit disturbing. Why not use an in-game photo? As for Burks, I've always really liked him. I think he is the perfect 6th man for most teams. Although, I think the Jazz need to focus on bringing in players who are a little more cerebral and less wild. Even Burks interviews...

Could Gobert eventually replace Kanter in the Starting Lineup?

I'll have to take your word for it. I don't watch college sports in general. For example, BYU vs Utah doesn't phase me anymore. It hasn't for years now. Anyway, I see your point. That's a tough call. Although, I think Favors has the edge in overall value. Kanter does seem more intelligent...

Could Gobert eventually replace Favors in the Lineup?

That's the thing, we don't really know for sure how these guys will develop over the course of the year. I'm hoping Favors continues to play smarter and develop that offensive game that's looking better every game. If he does, then we have our starting PF. I would actually prefer Gobert to...

Could Gobert eventually replace Kanter in the Starting Lineup?

I agree. Each player provides a different strength for different situations. I'm just glad the Jazz have this problem in the first place. We have so many quality big men that we had to let some go. Sad but also awesome at the same time. :)

Could Gobert eventually replace Kanter in the Starting Lineup?

Well, I've been noticing you take things to extremes a bit more than others. That's all. :) Go Jazz!

Could Gobert eventually replace Kanter in the Starting Lineup?

That is true, however, I think Evans is better than people give him credit for. He's actually a pretty good high-post passer. I've noticed the Jazz do well with him in the Ostertag-type role. Of course, he's much more mobile and can actually hit an outside jumper pretty consistently now. The...

Could Gobert eventually replace Kanter in the Starting Lineup?

HN, please refrain from mocking people. I come to this board to talk Utah Jazz sports. This kind of behavior reminds me of PVP in games. I don't like it there nor here. Thanks, man. :)

Could Gobert eventually replace Favors in the Lineup?

I see Gobert and Hayward as part of that team. I can also see Evans, Ian and even Lucas as part of that squad. Kanter could play a similar Okur role, but much stronger and better low-post. Not sold on Burke yet but he is looking better. Burks is a bit wild still. Favors makes too many mistakes...

Could Gobert eventually replace Favors in the Lineup?

HN, maybe not obsess over him quite so much, but I do agree that he's a great find. In fact, I envision him as the starting C at some point. He just has those intangibles along with his natural ability that I can see helping a team win, a lot. In comparison, Gobert's hustle vs the other...

Hayward & Jazz - not close to agreement (Hayward leaving 4/40 on the table)

Hayward is not going to be better than Manu, sorry. Manu is an elite shooter and scorer, first of all. He's also a much better passer and finisher in the half-court. Hayward has better size and thus rebounds better and also blocks shots better as well. Yet, I would say Manu is smarter and...

Hayward & Jazz - not close to agreement (Hayward leaving 4/40 on the table)

That's the thing, his shooting % and turnovers aren't helping his or his agent's claim that he deserves more than what's being offered. Just look at other teams who paid their players $10 million or more and how many of them are happy for doing so? How many of those same wing players are...

Hayward & Jazz - not close to agreement (Hayward leaving 4/40 on the table)

I agree. Although, $12 million is pushing it for a guy that is good but much more replaceable than a big guy. All wing players, outside of Superstars, are replaceable. The thing is, Hayward is looking pretty great right now because the rest of our team kinda stinks right now. They'll have...

Hayward & Jazz - not close to agreement (Hayward leaving 4/40 on the table)

I'm curious if all this talk by other GM's and coaches could be considered tampering, because there are contract talks going on right now and also because he's not their player?

    Core 4 (or 5) comparisons

Haha, nice. I have to agree with you. I'm not convinced any of these players can develop anywhere near that level. Although, I do like how universal Gordon's game has reached. I can see him continually getting better every year, like a certain Millsap we know. Although, Gordon has a...

    Core 4 (or 5) comparisons

I can deny that. Iverson was real tough, but I'd rather have Chris Paul be his goal over Iverson any day of the week.

    Hayward's new Chicka.

Well, my Batman skills told me (a quick scan of that Instagram page), that she plays volleyball and will be joining the Hoosiers team next year. That makes sense. They probably met at some Indiana sport thing during the Summer. I agree, she does look like a prettier version of Emma Watson...

    Jazz fielding questions for Beeno

Besides, this whole thread is one giant mess. Reminds me of behavior I used to see in middle school, not from adults. Somewhere along the line, that line got real blurry: Private vs public behavior.
