I actually think a trade gets more likely as the summer moves on. I said in another thread that for other teams trading for Gobert may be a second or third option for teams that didn’t get the other players they were targeting.

My sense is that the Jazz are in a weak negotiating position right now because the guys we have to trade are not the first choice options for other teams. I do actually think the team will eventually make a move, maybe even a big move, but perhaps not today or in the first week of free agency...

If I remember correctly Ainge did get Charlotte to do a sign and trade for Hayward, creating a large trade exception. They only got a half season of Evan Fournier out of that, but they didn’t lose Hayward for nothing.
