Probably not my final guess, but will post something so people have a template for what I'm looking for:
1. BKN
2. NOP
3. UTA
4. WAS
5. CHA
6. PHO
7. SAC
8. BOS
9. POR
10. CHI
I'm not sure if someone will be starting a Western Conference Prediction Thread (someone still should), but I thought it would be fun/sad/interesting to have a bottom 10 in the NBA prediction contest. I'll also be using this thread to post periodic updates to the tank race.
Please Post with #1...
I was listening to Zach Lowe on the way to work this morning and he had a podcast about favorite non-Finals NBA teams. It made me think of what my favorite non-Finals Jazz teams were. I think some good candidates are the 83-84 team that had the franchises first winning record, the 91-92 team...
It looks like Ace is running away with this, which seems very unlikely to me that he will have that type of impact. Most rookies are not helpful to winning in the NBA.
On the other hand, if I'm remembering correctly Ace had one of the best on/off impacts of any draft pick. I've kind of...
Who isn't in the rotation is definitely an interesting question at the start of the year. For example, I'm pretty sure that Niang will be in the rotation, but that means Hendricks probably isn't. I think that Collier, WCJ, Brice, Anderson, and Cody will be fighting for 2 rotation spot...
NSJ is a guy I didn't like at all during the draft, I didn't think he was draftable. He didn't do anything in college to look like an NBA player (had injuries). He is probably a good example of the risk of drafting a guy based on high school stuff.
He is extremely young still and still has...
I would put the most likely/most impactful options in this order:
- Keyonte having a 3rd year jump and making our guard rotation much improved
- 48 minutes of NBA level center rotation could have a huge impact on our defense.
- Lauri having an all star year and just having the type of...
It looks like Dash's team, Melbourne, will be playing the Pelicans in Melbourne on October 3rd. It will be interesting to see Fears vs Dash for portions of the game.
Niang played 1,697 minutes last year. That would have been our 5th highest.
Jazz rookie total minutes the last 3 years:
Collier: 1,839
Flip: 1,521
Cody: 1,059
Keyonte: 2,022
Hendricks: 856
Brice: 584
Kessler: 1,703
Agbaji:1,209
Yes, true, and I thought about letting people choose multiple options, but I wanted to see what people thought was both the most likely, and would have the most impact.
Dash looks huge next to these Aussie guards. Karim looks a little slow to me. I'm not sure either of these guys look like lottery picks to me yet, but still early in the season.

I think improved defense could be because of a variety of things. The biggest one for me is having 48 real center minutes. The other possibility would be because of removing Sexton/Clarkson/Collins from the rotation.
We have almost zero perimeter defenders on this team, and so it would be...
I don't think most people are too concerned about the Jazz being too good, but let's just pretend. The Jazz are projected to win 18 games, so let's just say they win 30+, what do you think is the most likely reason.
(We're almost there, so just one more off season poll to pass the time)
