So I've been thinking a lot about roster construction and the best lineups to use obviously this season and moving forward and I'm wondering where Lauri fits best? Obviously he is very versatile and it's super important to play position less basketball nowadays but one thing is evident right now...
Lauri proved last year he was too good for the Jazz to tank. Plus with Kessler having a year experience and the rookies it may be tough. We do have a solid but unspectacular group of role players
But we can start by even ranking the Jazz against the rest of the West teams. The pessimist in me...
Oh no doubt. Completely agree on that end. I think the Jazz and Thunder will have upcoming battles in the playoffs 2 to 3 years from now. I'm just wondering if there rebuild and assets will ultimately be better than ours thus making them the better team.
We want to win a championship right? To...
I think we all love what Danny Ainge has done with this team over the past couple of seasons and how he has positioned the Jazz to be a real threat. However should we delay opening our window and continue to tank?
Looking at the future of the rest of the conference OKC will definitely be one...
So I'm curious what everyone thinks the best development path for Taylor Hendricks is. Would he develop better getting 25 - 30 minutes a night in the G league working on self creation and iso or getting 7 -10 minutes a night in the NBA with NBA coaching and training facilities. He's probably...
That's a little tough. On the surface I want to say yes but Whitmore and Walker are my two favorite picks from that group but they both play the 3 and 4. With Lauri on the team you don't need both. So I think the best fit would be Jarace Walker and Amen Thompson. But you would really be banking...
I definitely wouldn't waste resources drafting a point guard. Resources should be used to find and develop wings and forwards with point guard skills. I think who is currently on the roster is fine. If THT continues to develop and becomes a better shooter who isn't so erratic were good. Sexton...
If the Jazz take GG and he busts I will gladly admit to being wrong. I won't flame management for taking the risk. If Anthony Black's shooting does develop he has high potential but I'm very hesitant he actually will get better shooting the ball. Maybe that's me being skeptical because Dante...
Ok but who are you taking at 9 then? Let's assume none of the projected top 8 drop to 9. Do you think Anthony Black or Cason Wallace have more potential than GG Jackson? I understand GG has his flaws. I don't think anyone is really disputing that. But who are you taking there that has more...
Dude GG Jackson is 6'9 215 pounds. He can self create and score at all 3 levels. Yes his defense currently is not great but with his body type and size he has potential to be a great defender if he puts in the work. Is he a polished finished product? Absolutely not. But guys with his size and...
I agree. The more I think about it, there's really no other prospect outside of the top 8 that has more potential than GG. If he's there at 9 the Jazz should be running to the podium to take him. I would much rather risk the high potential of GG (including his bust potential) than take Grady...
So what's your plan for the all the draft picks? How about you lay your plan out. What picks are you using to draft players what picks are you trading and for what? You want to keep this year's picks right? Through out some names of guys your taking and let's see your roster construction
I bet when you go to wendover your the person who only bets $5 a hand and gets scared to double down when you have a hard 10 or 11 and the dealer is showing a bust card.
And Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler were drafted 15th and 30th back in 2011. I believe back when wing players were considered...
This exactly why I'm a proponent of trading up in the draft. I get that it stings to package a bunch of picks. As fans we like to believe that all those future picks will be high value and turn into great assets. But we have such an excess we actually can't roster all those picks. And the 2027...
It's really a net loss of 4 picks because your getting back the number 2 pick which you will use on Brandon Miller. Also I tried to use most of the picks that probably have the lesser value out of all the assets minus the sixers pick which doesn't have much value at all.
Regardless I do agree...
Let's just say Brandon Miller is the next Kawhi Leonard. To guarantee you get him your going to need the number 2 pick. Would the 9th and 16th this year plus the Cavs 2025, Wolves 2025 and Lakers 2027 be enough to move up? Would that be too much? Maybe. It's definitely a tough pill to swallow...
100% agree! I think Cam Whitmore and Brandon Miller will be the next big time wing players in this league. I wonder what it would cost to trade up for either of them. Depending on price this actually might be the way to go rather than trading for a star because these guys will be on a rookie...
