    Walter Clayton Jr. Hype Thread

yeah, the shooting will come around. Even if he needs a high screen in order to get his shot off (at least at first), just that one action will spread the floor A LOT. I know this will present some challenges, but I'm really curious about the offense with both WCJ and Collier on the floor. If...

The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

When you mentioned Ellis a couple of weeks ago, I went and did my homework. You know I like a pitbull, so I'm in love. I just don't know how we would find minutes for everybody (especially if we were to acquire him by trading a big).

Which Young Player Will Have the Largest Improvement Next Season?

I've had moments during the offseason where I got really bullish on Keyonte. But, for some reason, I'm currently pretty low on him.

Which Young Player Will Have the Largest Improvement Next Season?

If it turns out that Brice can survive on defense, then he'll probably run away with our MIP award.

Jackpotting Around - It's Just One Game... But...

I've always thought we nailed the Brice pick. And I've been patient and hopeful for the year-3 jump that appears to be upon us. But the defense has been much worse than I anticipated. I really hope he figures something out, because it's otherwise looking like he could be an incredible weapon.

Until Brice demonstrates improved defense, then we can't expect an overall impact much greater than peak Malik Beasley.

    Walter Clayton Jr. Hype Thread

I said this in the game thread, but I'll say it here, too: I think you can see evidence for how well he processes the game on both sides of the ball.

Game Thread Oct 13, 2025 07:00PM MT: Dallas Mavericks @ Utah Jazz (Preseason)

minor note: The jazz's perimeter defense looked really soft a lot of the time, and Walt looked like he saw and understood (and was frustrated by) the problems the team was having executing in this facet of the game. I didn't notice him closing out any harder or anything, though. I've been...

Who will be our opening night starting lineup?

Very good thoughts. I think I agree with you almost entirely. I picked my starting lineup based more on defensive concepts. I'm hoping that the starting lineup is able to hold its own and punch back on that side of the ball, even if there's a quick sub at the 6-minute mark that's tooled around...

Who will be our opening night starting lineup?

I don't expect this to be the starting lineup, but this is what I would do (if I felt that Hendricks was 100% and relatively rust-free) Collier Ace Hendricks Lauri Kessler

Who will be our opening night starting lineup?

    100% they can play together.

Jackpotting Around - It's Just One Game... But...

Can I ask yall (since I don't watch as often or as closely as I used to)... how off-base is she on Key's defense? It would be really quick work to make a compilation of Key ball-watching in no-man's land. I know he's bad, but how bad is he? Like, bottom 10th percentile? Or..?

Size advantages are most impactful on the defensive side—and they get neutered whenever a player has a bad case of ball-watching disease. Keyonte can get that pretty bad.

Game Thread Oct 08, 2025 06:00PM MT: Utah Jazz @ Houston Rockets (Preseason)

I'm still betting on Keyonte as a secondary creator. He and Brice are guys that I want catching the ball with some kind of advantage already created—and then they should quickly put their scoring skills to work or know it's better to move the ball instead. That doesnt mean that they shouldn't...

Game Thread Oct 08, 2025 06:00PM MT: Utah Jazz @ Houston Rockets (Preseason)

A lot of nuclear-bad turnovers. And bad rebounding. But! (1) Gotta love the debut from Ace (2) Brice can flat-out ****ing score (3) Hendricks being that comfortable on the perimeter is huge (4) 9 assists and 0 turnovers from Key is amazing WCJ doesn't look like he's pushing Collier out of...

Who am I rooting to lose this season?

This. This would be a great season for Kawhi to miss another 40ish games with some weird inflammation to his leg hairs or something.
