Got to think Flip gets most of his minutes at 5 til Walker is back.

What should the FO do if we are 0.500 by January?

The reality is we are 3rd or 4th worst IN THE WEST as things stand. Adding in the East that is another 5 teams worst than us. So regardless of the .500 hypothetical we are teetering on the edge of 8th place- before possible jumps by other lottery teams. If we were in the East I’d say go for it...

Lauri Markkanen Hype & Appreciation Thread

Efficiency is off the charts and his D is improved as well and importantly - assists. He’s always been limited by his lack of creating opportunities for others and adding that to efficiency has taken him to the next level.

The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Is it tied to any pick we own or just our organic own pick? i.e. can we trade with Denver or similar team for their first rounder and use that to swap?

    Rookie Scale Options

Yeah, they would kill for Brice right now…

The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Fat Jokic is back, so you'll probably have to wait to later in the season to get a reasonable comp.

Keyonte or Walter Clayton Jr, who has the better career?

Clayton isn't as physically gifted as Keyonte, so theoretically his ceiling is lower, but Jr. seems to have a rare head on his shoulders, and ultimately a supremely confident, skilled, PG with a great feel, will beat out a less skilled but higher physical ceiling PG. I would have said Clayton...

Keyonte George Hype & Appreciation Thread

I haven't looked at the stats, but my feeling is that his #s are decent when not closely guarded, and his offensive impact is obviously more positive overall.

    Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk

I think he’s been correctly rated for how he actually plays- but Hardy has obviously seen him play better than what we saw during games in practice, hence his willingness to start him. This season I think we’re starting to see ‘practice’ Svi during games.

Game Thread Oct 27, 2025 07:00PM MT: Phoenix Suns @ Utah Jazz

The thing about how Lauri is playing- none of it seems unsustainable. He is doing regular Lauri things- he just doesn’t have other quick trigger vets (less efficient ones at that) taking the available shots. It is definitively HIS team and Keyonte is also generally less frantic in looking for...

No, he was passing out info on injury list before it was made public to his co-conspirators.

    Following Potential 2026 Draftees

I think the other two will show out very well, I just think AJ will separate himself- his genuine length (on a court he looks longer than Boozer) and hops vs the others give him an organic advantage that he will use to make it easy to name him the nearly universal #1.

    Following Potential 2026 Draftees

AJ will be the clear #1 by the time of the draft and it won't be particularly close.

    No Extension for Walker Kessler?

I think the big risk is if the Lebron/Lakers tiff creates some chaos on that team, their appetite for risk re:Kessler may expand quite a bit.

    No Extension for Walker Kessler?

I agree in principle- we have been burned before on letting this happen. I’m assuming though that Austin, having moved front offices recently, has a pretty decent grasp of the what/how teams are approaching the new CBA and judges the risk to be low. If he has misjudged that, it will be the...

    No Extension for Walker Kessler?

Possibly, but the new CBA seems to really have breathed some paranoia into front offices re:getting aproned. I think there are too many examples of deals not getting done or players being overlooked due to money concerns, league wide. Jazz have miles of cap space and are still scared of spending...

    No Extension for Walker Kessler?

The nice part of RFA in our situation is that I really don't think anyone is going to tie up enough money on Kessler to keep us from matching when that # is so ridiculously high it would be a poison pill to whomever offered it. If he shows to be that good, we'll match regardless and then they're...

Cody Williams Hype and Appreciation Thread

And he’s getting serviceable on the offensive end, while our other players aren’t even serviceable on the defensive end. He’s actually going to be a long term rotation player in the NBA if he stays on this trajectory, which is probably more than most of us could have hoped for after his rookie...
