I just don't see a team that would be offering that much for him right now outside of Cleveland if they can execute a really complicated 4-5 team trade. Detroit is not throwing out massive offers at 14-2.
If Cleveland can turn Garland and Jarrett Allen into a decent wing and Lauri, I'm sure...
The Jazz traded Conley, NAW, Vanderbilt, and Beasley for a late 2027 first to intentionally tank for a few years when they could have packaged picks to make the playoffs that season.
Lauri's potential trade market is very odd right now. The teams he fits with
1. Miami: Requires Terry Rozier's contract being traded which may or may not be allowed by the CBA
2. Golden State: Requires trading Draymond and Kuminga and leaves them with a massive hole at center and on defense...
It would if he could block shots but I'm not sure he can anymore. The Jazz have way too many guys (and have 4 firsts in the next two drafts) to hold onto marginal players. Hendricks, Brice, and Cody are probably gone summer 2027.
There's a decent chance neither Hendricks or Cody Williams produce even close to replacement level minutes at any point in their Jazz career and that's pretty bleak for back to back top 10 picks.
I would imagine Cody gets his 4th year option declined and Hendricks doesn't get a QO after his...
If the Jazz get another non-star prospect this draft and then decide to try to win, this is going to be the most pointless 4 year tank of all time, lol.
2 massive busts and 2 non-stars just to be in the same place before all the tanking except having wasted four years of Lauri's career...
I mean "better" is not saying a whole lot here, but the issue with Cody is that while his one-on-one defense is *fine,* he doesn't generate any turnovers or get rebounds or protect the rim.
Cody has 8 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks... For the entire season.
Obviously he has not played a lot...
fwiw, Tim MacMahon seems to think there's a huge gap between Kessler's camp and the Jazz and thinks there's a very real possibility the Jazz end up sign-and-trading Kessler in free agency.

I do not think there's a worse fit than in Utah with our defense personnel and culture. Maybe Sacramento? But we're a team that should not be looking at LaMelo at all.
Caleb Wilson obviously has elite athleticism and a very good BBIQ, but there just doesn't seem to be much of anything there skill-wise. Kind of has to be the rollman PF on a team with a stretch 5 that doesn't roll to the paint?
I think the Jazz thought Keyonte was not good and wanted to replace him but now it's just really awkward.
WCJ was also kind of a bizarre pick even at the time because he was a guy whose appeal was not his upside, but just that he was seemingly ready to go right away... And well, he's not, but...
