I understand most Jazz fans like Cotton (although a good amount don't) but I think MOST Jazz fans are pinning him as a decent backup / good 3rd stringer. My issue on this board comes in when people completely make him an afterthought given his size and what he has shown in about 10 GAMES.
Long time no post by me and I know you've missed me. Long story short: Cotton will be the Jazz starting PG this year at some point (if not traded). Cant wait to come on this board and let everyone have it.
Im conflicted here. At one end, I feel bad for how stupid you guys on here will look when Cotton is starting for your team and you guys are loving it (despite doubting him the whole off-season). But at the other end, I am very excited to see Cotton as a successful starting NBA point guard.
Just...
Completely agree. Put Cotton on a team where he can play meaningful minutes and watch the magic happen. Jazz fans seem to think hes a third string at best after watching 4 NBA games and 8 summer league games, because you know 12 or so games is enough to write a player off . . .
Trust...
Feel for Exum, but with that said, Cotton will lead you guys to a 'ship so in the end it will all work out. Of course, the majority of you will doubt this but just remember this post in a few months.
" Ask any Jazz fan earlier this year and they would have looked at you funny and said "who's Bryce Cotton?" "
Would imagine most of them still don't know : /
He has gotten a tremendous amount better (in almost every area but specifically in creating offense) since he left PC. His junior year, he could not create his own shot. He can be a spotty shooter but when your biggest weakness is certainly fixable, I think like most he could be a VERY good NBA...
I lol'ed. I know everyone is entitled to an opinion, but when that opinion is 100% wrong... well you shouldn't have it. Cotton literally looks to pass first every time he touches it. Only reason he is shooting more right now is because its summer league.
