Few tidbits of interest in the newest issue of ESPN The Magazine.
They did a mock draft where current players select picks for their teams. They had Al Jefferson do the picks for the Jazz . He picked Kemba #3 and Donatas Montiejunas #12. Baron Davis took Klay Thompson #4. So...
Also just for informations sake: if you read LHM's book, you know that the Jazz turned a profit every single year that he was alive. Just saying.
The Jazz lost money every year before he was the owner. I think by the 2nd season he was the full owner the Jazz turned a profit.
Millsap's contract isn't bad. Seems like he could play with Jefferson or Favors. I wouldn't trade him.
Like someone said earlier, I think the only reason to trade him would be if he refused to come off the bench.
Yup.
If the Jazz are going to trade down to draft a wing or big, it makes sense to do it with Sacramento who seems to be the only threat to take Jimmer before 12.
People on this board are vastly overrating the value of the 3rd pick in this draft.
There is virtually no difference between the quality of players 3-10. The only value is that you assure your pick of the litter, but honestly that is all about preference. Sacramento would be really overpaying...
Ben Wallace? Dwight Howard his first few years? Brian Cardinal in the Finals? Joel Anthony? Jarron Collins? These guys all play(ed). If you watched the most video of his workout, even though he was missing jumpers his form wasn't terrible. He could begin to make similar shots.
He also has one...
I think the opposite is true. I think the Jazz plan on keeping Devin Harris for atleast this year. If the Jazz do indeed draft a PG I think they want to sit him behind a veteran for a year or two.
Everything that we have heard from people who actually have legit NBA connections is that there are only 2 people in play for #1: Kyrie Irving and Derrick Williams.
For what it's worth though, John Callipari did say to Brian T. Smith that if he were drafting #1 overall he would take Enes...
I think that there was a bigger stigma then (1990's) than now about Salt Lake City/Utah. That's why they had so much trouble getting talented role players here.
There have been a lot of things in the past decade+ which has changed the way people view this market:
I think that the NBA party...
New Jersey happened to him.
I also get the vibe that he is just one of those guys that seems to play super well against the Jazz and not so much everyone else. Even in some games against New Jersey he gave Deron problems, including on the defensive end.
