They also tanked for a year and got extremely lucky and got Tim Duncan. The Jazz have not had fortune to that degree and the truth is you need stuff like that. I love Deron, but he doesnt dominate the way Duncan has.
He assassinated Denver in Game 2.
Game 7 in Houston was Boozer's best game in a Jazz uniform, but not Deron's.
He had a game where we lost in Dallas, but I think that was the best I have ever seen Deron. Scored close to 50. Also the OKC OT game this year. He was spectacular.
Yeah. I liked the black jerseys. I cant believe the final 5 they had out there for that game. Quincy Lewis should never have been in at the end of a game. Stock, Malone, Donyell Marshall, Lewis, and a rookie AK. Strange.
Lets definitely focus on the mistake he made as a young man and not on:
a) The many years of excellent basketball that we were given
or
b) the amount of money he has poured into our community's charities
or
c) the amount of time that I saw him take to greet and talk to disabled children at...
1. Kirilenko
2. Memo extension
3. Harpring
Those were really the only 3 really bad ones. The others cant be considered that bad because they were for little money, and short length. Palacio, Eisley, etc. signed one year deals for the min.
Craig Smith would be a really good pickup.
I am also intrigued by the possibility of getting McGrady. In the Jazz's system he wouldnt have so much of a burden as he has had in his career. He would be a good secondary ball handler, and can still shoot he just cant get to the rim like he used to.
MY thoughts from todays game:
Hayward - really nice bounce back game. More aggressive today. Took it strong to the rim. Hit a shot off of a curl. Had one really nice fake at the rim followed by a nice fade away.
Sundiata - struggled again today. Had a stretch in the 3rd where he hit two 3's...
My thoughts:
Too many whistles and substitutions. The Jazz are really doing nobody any favors with the amount of guys they bring to Orlando and the way they distribute minutes. I would like to see them change that for the last few games.
Kosta - was solid again. Gaining confidence it seems...
My takes:
Kosta - Much improved from last game. Didnt rush his shots. Rebounded the ball well. Challenged shots well. Really good game.
Hayward - Good game. Continues to not do too much wrong. Shot looks nice. Good fundamentals and intangibles, but watching him play these two games it is still...
That is tough to do in summer league. No one is interested in running the offense. You could tell that everything went a lot smoother with him in the game though. Definitely noticeable.
