I doubt they could afford to pay all of them esp since Kessler will be a RFA and Keyonte extension eligible.

I don't think Clippers have the salary to match for Ja. I can definitely see them trade for a scoring 6th man microwave scorer type. They get no production from their bench when Kawhi/Harden need a breather.

    Can The Ainges Resist Zion?

Nah. I do think Ainges learned the hard way with that Collins trade which luckily didn't bite them too hard although they wasted valuable cap space that could've been used in better ways. They need to stay the course. No more reclamation types even if they can be had with expiring contracts...

Yeah I remember all those teams especially the Knicks tanking for that draft too.

I like OO alot. He's a really good kid too my son played against him in high school. He's a little undersized to be your full time center he would be an easy fit in any big man rotation. I mean if they aren't willing to fully commit to Kessler and give him his money they can do way worse than...

The Tre/Trae backcourt is going to be terrible defensively. I don't get Washington's angle at all unless there is some kind of draft pick compensation.

Interesting. I thought Conley had the "implied" NTC and FVV had an outright NTC.

Sure but FVV does have a no trade clause which kinda gums up any deals involving him.

    Keyonte George’s Star Ascension

Most NBA front offices use advanced stats such as LEBRON. All I can say is even by the eye test Keyonte is a very bad defender. I'm still a fan but his play on that end of the court should absolutely be a consideration when handing out his next contract.

    Keyonte George’s Star Ascension

LEBRON evaluates a player’s contributions using the box score and advanced on/off calculations for evaluation of player impact per 100 possessions on-court. https://www.bball-index.com/

The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

His shooting is as advertised. He's a really bad defender too. As a rookie he will improve in that area but he and Keyonte are both currently bottom 5 defenders statistically amongst all current players in the entire NBA.

I think they would just move off Suggs at that point.

    Keyonte George’s Star Ascension

The other difference is that defensively Keyonte is #500 out of the 503 players rated by Lebron defensive stats so far this season at -2.07. Worse than Trae Young, Jordan Poole, Zach Lavine types. In his defense our other players such as Lauri (-1.83) and Ace (-1.32) aren't faring much better...

Trade DL anticipations: New winds or par for the course?

I don't personally have any interest in Trae but he's another "star" along with Anthony Davis who is apparently available this deadline.

Is this the worst rebuild in NBA history?

I don't feel like piling on but the thing that gets me is the Wemby Spurs had a higher lotto pick than the Jazz the past two drafts. OKC looks to be a potential dynasty and at this point they could likely have a higher lottery pick in '26 thanks to the hapless Clips. Both those teams esp the...

    Jackpotting Around -Tony Jones Edition

Even if you subscribe to the fixed lottery conspiracy they still could've had a chance at a very good prospect such as Amen or Ausur Thompson. Finishing with the 9th pick in '23 draft was a disaster anyway you slice it. Even Ryan knew it on draft night when he was quoted saying they ended up...

Cody Williams Hype and Appreciation Thread

It's likely a main reason they fired scouts and brought in Austin. A smart team like the Spurs takes Castle and then trades off their lottery other pick before picking Cody.

Pacers interest in Kessler- what do we want?

I would ideally ask for their '26 FRP with limited protection (top 4 protected).
