yeah, ainge doesn't seem to discriminate - he just loves him some HS blue chips. if the guy was great in college, great. if he underperformed it certainly won't deter him. jaylen brown was similar to bailey in that he wasn't terrible, but he certainly wasn't good (Bailey was quite a bit...
thanks for posting.
i think he's speaking in terms of should vs will - i will listen and see what i think after that - which if he's basing it on what he himself thinks, i totally get it. I think there are a lot on here that would agree that's where Ace SHOULD be. the reality is he will be...
regardless what anybody thinks of Ace or how the lottery falls, he is a lock for top 3. if the jazz don't get a top 3 pick, if you don't like him, you don't have to worry about him. if you do like him, tough ****.
yeah, i don't think it matters much that he isn't 6'10" - i think more than anything it has been an annoyance that he was listed somewhere at 6'10" and from there everybody took it as fact. doesn't matter because even at 6'9" (6'8" or near that without shoes) he has elite size for his position.
i'll just say this: as somebody who watched 30+ rutgers games this season, bailey's passing ability isn't a concern for me. if he were a flagg level passer, it would be incredible. he's not that. but if he were ultimately a jazz draft pick, i wouldn't even think twice about it. he'll be...
ace can pass. his role was to score and his team was horrendous at shooting (one of the worst shooting teams in cfb), so his assist numbers are alarmingly low, but he can pass. don't get me wrong, i'm not saying he's an elite passer or that he has elite vision, but the base is there and he's...
and honestly the bolded is why the lottery is a good system to discourage tanking while at the same time at least giving bad teams a chance to get better. for a team like the jazz, it's probably the only way to get to the top, but the odds are stacked against it.
i'll say another semi-anti-ace bailey comment here. all season, people have been saying he's 6'10 and of course locke is saying that as well. as somebody who watched 30 rutgers games last year, i'd be shocked if he measures at 6'10". it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Bailey come it at...
ugh. i hate the idea of even trying to evaluate a guy based on one game (edit: just read Cy's comment and it sounds like Locke admits as much). even as an Ace fan and even if that one game makes Ace look good.
you should understand you can get a star, even a superstar outside the #1 overall pick and sometimes the #1 pick is underwhelming. iow, if the jazz get a star (something we may not know for a couple years at least) at 2,3,4,5, it was worth the tank.
i mean, it's less good vs bad, more the fact that bosh was a big man who played some 5 in the nba when he wasn't playing the 4, while Bailey is a guard/wing. just a weird comparison from that standpoint.
agreed. you take harper because his floor is higher and his ceiling is still pretty damn high. you take ace if you really want to gamble (see what i did there?)
i'm pretty close, but i think there is a cooper tier, a dylan tier, an ace tier, then probably 4-7 tier with fears, vj, kon and tre. i just don't think there is any chance the jazz pass on ace if they draft 3rd.
