10 days to Jazz Camp

In their 10th season (1983-84), the Jazz don't seem to have been 10th in the league in anything. They won their 10th game of the season. They went 4-3 (including playoffs) when playing on the 10th. They played on the 10th in every possible month. They went 3-2 (including playoffs) in games decided by exactly 10 points.

In their 10th season in Utah (1988-89), the Jazz were 10th in the league in FG% and opponent FGAs. The Jazz beat the Spurs in their 10th game of the season. The Jazz had a 3-1 record when playing on the 10th. The Jazz were 0-1 in games decided by exactly 10 points.

In the 1974 draft, which was 10 rounds long, the expansion New Orleans Jazz were given the 10th pick in every round. They never used pick #10, though, as they traded it (along with 2 players and 3 other picks) to Atlanta for Pete Maravich, who played 10 seasons in the NBA.

The 1974 draft had several connections between New Orleans and Utah. The Atlanta Hawks used the #10 pick from New Orleans on a player from Utah, Mike Sojourner. New Orleans' first-ever draft selection, at pick #10 in the 2nd round, was Aaron James, who was also selected in the ABA draft by the Utah Stars. James never played in Utah, spending his entire five-year (half of 10) NBA career in New Orleans, scoring 10.0 ppg in his final season and 10.8 ppg for his career.

Gordan Giricek was traded to the Jazz during the 2003-04 season. During his time in Orlando that season, he averaged about 10 ppg. He had 10 FGAs in his 10th game with the Jazz. He scored exactly 10 points with the Jazz once that year, on March 10. I don't feel like saying much else about Giricek, other than the fact that he got called for traveling about 10 times per game. At least it seemed that way.

Paul Grant holds the distinction of being the only man in history to play in exactly 10 games for the Jazz. It was during the 2003-04 season. He played nearly 10 (9.8) mpg, although his playing time fluctuated wildly. He had 10 defensive rebounds with the Jazz after getting none in his prior time in the NBA. Before coming to the Jazz, Grant was included in a 9-player, 1-draft pick trade. The draft pick was used by the Timberwolves to select Wally Szczerbiak, who wore #10 with the Timberwolves and Cavs.
