Lemme start off by saying that I hate the Thuggets just as much as the Tankers and the Fakers, and our home/away wins last season were two of my favourite games.

I was reading Orangello's thread in General NBA, and noticed that many people had the Nuggets ranked ahead of Utah, and it got me thinking.

Lawson/Miller................................................Mo/Tinsley/Watson
Afflalo..........................................................Hayward/Burks
Gallo/Chandler......................vs......................Marv/Millsap
Faried...........................................................Favors/Millsap
Mozgov/McGee...............................................Al/Enes

How do these two teams matchup next season? I feel like we are both of the teams contending for the 6th seed (presuming that our teams stay the same roster-wise) after the Thunder, Fakers, Spurs, Clippers, and Grizzlies. Keep in mind, although they nailed the 6th seed last season, we had the better season record, and we were behind by only a couple of wins. We also had the second best division-wins record at 9-4 (OKC was 10-3), whereas the Nuggets were 6-7. We are also the taller team, with more frontcourt depth, but less backcourt depth. Makes for an interesting comparison. Lets here some opinions, folks.

I like where your head is at dal. The reason that I am putting them ahead of the Jazz is because of the pace that they play at. They are a high tempo, up and down team. They won a lot of games last year because they simply outscored their opponents. I expect more of the same but I also think that Gallo and Afflalo will take another step in their progression.

They also have some really good depth currently.

2-1 if I'm not mistaken?? I did a quick scan, I could very well be wrong.

The main reason I have them ahead of the Jazz is George Karl >>>>>>>> Ty Corbin.

Its funny when I troll Nugget forums and they are always ripping apart George Karl. Sometimes it is even more brutal than Jazzfanz criticizing Corbin. I personally think Karl is a pretty good coach and if Corbin fixed his lineup he would be decent as well.

I think the Jazz and the Nuggets will be very evenly matched this year. One thing to consder about the Nuggets is that they'll have Wilson Chandler all year. He only played in 8 games last year due to signing in China during the lockout and then getting injured after he re-signed with the Nuggets. Gallinari also missed significant time due to injuries. The Jazz were relatively healthy with the main rotation players. Also, as Qman pointed out, the Nuggets have a great experienced coach in George Karl. All things considered, I could easily see the teams splitting the season series. I can't strongly rank one of them ahead of the other.
