2012 GS for 6-8 2011?

I think we should stay put at 12 and gamble that next year we can get a better prospect if GS stays out of that protection zone.

Too much of a gamble if you think about it. We are already out of the top 7 no matter what. There are still good players, but we could be at 13-14 easy.
I doubt we'd get a player better than Knight or Bismack there.

I want quality top players. If we have an offer for either of those two players for our two picks I'm all in.
The GS pick is a decent asset, but it's being a little overrated here.
It could land us someone like Lamb, and turn out to be good, but the odds are higher it turns out to be meh imo.

It really depends on the new CBA and whether they will keep the draft age as is. If they do, then it is going to be a really deep draft. Guys like Austin Rivers are going to be pushed back into the range where we would likely be drafting. You have a point if they change the age though. I guess I am just not as high on Biyombo as I once was. I think we will take Knight with the 3rd pick like it or not.

If we could take this year's 12 and next year's GS pick to get Bismack or Knight you do it.
Disagree. If Utah really wants them they can take them at #3, or look to trade back a couple spots and still hope to get them. People are only falling in love with those guys because it's such a weak draft.

Outside of Derrick Williams or Kyrie Irving, there's no one I would trade future picks for - and even then I'd think about it.

They are the Warriors and they generally suck, but they don't usually suck that bad. My guess is a pick in the #8-#12 range in 2012.

This.
2012 should yield the Jazz someone like maybe Gilchrist, Rivers, or Lamb. Or maybe they could trade their pick next year + a player to move up into Harrison Barnes range. Maybe they'll like these other guys better and not bother trading up.
I agree with the majority - 2012 is a nice draft.

Can't help but be reminded that half this board wanted to trade the New York pick for a hill of beans pretty much every year since we acquired it. Obviously this is a little different due to the protection, but I doubt Utah wants to add 3 rookies out of this draft.
