What's new

2013 Free Agents

If I know my KOC, then Corey Maggette will be a Jazz man by September. Unless he is outbid in Dallas.

I would bring back Millsap and definitely would need to pursue a shooter whether that means keep Foye or bring back Korver. Also, Dalembert could be a nice option if we let Jefferson walk.

Hopefully we get Bledsoe tomorrow. I want to see this roster next year...

1 Bledsoe, Tinsley
2 Burks, Foye, Murphy
3 Hayward, Carroll
4 Favors, Williams, Evans
5 Kanter, Dalembert

We let Mo, Al and Watson walk. Resign Tinsley if we can (because he knows this system, he's a better PG than any FA PG that would sign with us and he'd be cheap) Foye and Carroll. Then we sign Dalembert (good backup center, good defender, somewhat cheap)
All in all with a few rookies, that roster would be in the 40-45 mil range.

Edit:
Oh, and we let whoever we'd get in the Bledsoe trade walk also. Or trade them.

If the Jazz don't do a trade then we will have a lot of cap space going into summer. Here is the list of choices:

So many options!!

Sadly the best on that list have already played for us: Kirilenko and Korver. Jarrett Jack would be ok.

This list make me think the Jazz really need to pull of a trade in the next 20 hours.

Problem is, you're still thinking inside the box. Cap space can be used to acquire a veteran another team needs to trade in order for them to go after a FA or avoid the luxury tax. We don't just have to look at free agents!

BTW i would love to have Will Bynum as a backup PG. He had been a good couple with Drummond especially at P&R plays. Very agile, and good penetrator. He consistently contribute from the bench. What you guys think?

What do you guys think about Shaun Livingston? A 6'7" PG, decent rebounder, has pretty good court vision, and has been playing pretty well in Cleveland as of late. The guy was supposed to be a monster and looked good until the most devastating and ****ing gross knee injury I've ever seen.

*Warning, if you haven't seen this already. This ish is brutal.

Since then he's been a ghost, until recently. At 6'7", he would compliment the size of the C$. Check out what he did to the Spurs a week or so ago:

Color me intrigued.

That list is horrible. Looks like the Jazz have a chance at becoming a bottom 5 team next season. #firecorbin

No big suprises but here are some guys who have opted in:

Mark Deeks @MarkDeeksNBAThree incidences of unsurprising news here: Aaron Gray, Linas Kleiza and Charlie Villanueva have all opted in for next season.

Chris Paul, Jarrett Jack, DJ Augustin, Patty Mills
Tyreke Evans(R), JJ Reddick, Marco Belinelli, Jerryd Bayless, Jodie Meeks
Martell Webster, Corey Brewer, James Johnson(R) Tony Allen, Austin Daye (R), Xavier Henry
Aminu, Dejuan Blair,Earl Clark, Chris Copeland,
Dwight Howard

Is Marvin's opt-in deadline June 30th?

Does anyone know when the Jazz have to pick up Murphy's option? Based on last year and what I heard at locker clean out I doubt that he is back, but if they are tanking.......

Mo, Foye, Carroll, Hickson, McNeal

Re-sign Mo, re-sign McNeal to a one year contract and draft Schroeder. Hope that McNeal isn't cut out for the NBA and that Mo gets injured somewhere along the season so Corbin is forced to give Schroeder some minutes (because we all know that Schroeder wont get any.)

Re-sign Foye play him behind Alec. Re-sign Carroll play him behind Gordon.

Sign Hickson play him behind Favors at C while Marvin plays behind Kanter at PF. If Marvin sucks at PF as well, drop him after the season, slide Hickson down to PF and bring Tomic over.

Poor Evans. Always a third option. :(

Williams, McNeal, Schroeder
Burks, Foye, ???
Hayward, Carroll, Evans
Kanter, Williams, Evans
Favors, Hickson
