2015 Annual JazzFanz Current Players Draft

Thank you to everyone who was involved in the all-time draft, it was a great experience. Let's make this one as equally awesome.

Anyways, you know the deal. Construct the best 10 player team possible. The goal is for your team to beat any and all of the other teams being drafted.

Once a team/user/owner is on the clock (it's their turn), they have up to 12 hours to make their pick. The quicker the better but a 12 hour maximum time period will be allotted.

Each pick must include the player's name, their "resume", and why they are the best ****ing pick possible at that place in the draft for your team -- a kick *** pic or two helps as well usually. Some details may be left out so as not to give away a team's strategy or indirectly allude to who that team/user/owner may be considering with their next pick(s), but you get the point.

Trading can continue to occur pre-draft, during the actual draft, and once it's done. Once the draft is complete, there will be 24 more hours for post-draft trades before the playoff tournament ensues. The winner of each match in the tournament will be determined by the voting of JazzFanz.

There will be a 24 hour trade period before the actual draft for teams to swap picks and what not. After the draft there will be another 24 hours to make trades. Pretty much only really bad trades will even get considered to be vetoed. No lob sided trades, but I'm sure that won't be a problem.

14-16 teams, please only serious people who will not take the whole 12 hours and will actually make their pick within 3-5 hours or so. That seems like the perfect amount of time to me.

This is a current players draft, only current NBA players can be selected (including rookies if you want). The drafting and voting will be based on how we think each player will preform this upcoming season, as simple at that.

The playoff system will be determined by how many teams we end up with, either 14 or 16. I will decide the draft order by the picking a name out of the hat method as well as a video.

Looking at my 90's theme, I considered him at #97, but D-Will was too good to pass up. Almost took Hardaway though. That was a tough pick.

Ok so the Current Players Draft has always been a bit more wide open with Jako (Croc Dante) winning it in 2013 and Hotttnickkk (RIP) winning it in 2014. Don't think we had one in 2012.... (correct me if I'm wrong).


The Current Draft is usually less contentious than the All Time Draft as we're not talking about players who played 20+ years ago, most people can agree on players' performance and stats are more readily available. It usually has a more relaxed atmosphere as well for some unknown reason.


So in that light hopefully we can have some fun together again this year!!

I'm all for getting as many guys as possible (we can always sort out head to head matchups later) but I'd rather not have the draft bog down because somebody isn't planning on being in it.

Hekate is the runner up last year, should atleast give him the courtesy of having the oppertunity of joining. We still have 2 spots available with them and nobody has rushed to get one besides Cy, in a little more than a hour so far. I think we would be pretty set with the 14 we have.

I like the idea of drafting a compete team but honestly when it comes to voting I really only look at 8 - 9 players
