Overview

Rotation (simplified, players will be shifting "positions"):

Clarkson (36)
Bell (32) / Giricek (24)
Hayward (36) / Evans (24)
Marvin Williams (32)
Favors (32) / Diaw (24)

The major themes of my team are:

-Positionless basketball and switchability on defense

-Spacing

-Defense on the perimeter and at the rim

Two of three of Hayward, Clarkson, and Diaw will be on the floor at all times so that there is always sufficient playmaking and passing. The bread and butter of the offense will be PnR with Favors and/or horns sets with Diaw as a secondary hub.

The defense is anchored by athletic "bigs" (except Diaw, but who is very savvy) and there will always be a rim protector. This allows for straight-up schemes, switch-everything, aggressive trapping, doubling, and ball-denial schemes.

Favors will be surrounded by shooters for most of the time he's on the floor. He beasts in the rare circumstance he's been both healthy and had four spacers.

Evans will play alongside Diaw as much as possible and alongside Favors as little as possible (spacing). With spacing and versatile defenders around him, he can play to his strengths; dunking everything and protecting the rim (he averaged 4 blocks per 36 in '12/'13).

Plan for tfivas:

-Marv on Okur

-Hayward and Favors splitting duties on Booker and Brewer to keep Favors nearer to the rim

-Bell aggressively going over screens and forcing Hornacek into the paint

-Abuse Memo/Booker in the PnR

In most drafts, you can at least make a serious case for the more inferior team, but looking up and down these lineups, Tfivas hasn’t got a prayer. Lol

The Favors/Williams and Memo/Booker is a fun matchup. Both are pretty good pairings and I think pretty even.

The rest of the lineup is pretty close by I think Numbs is a little better.

I think numb has the better team but I have a hard time voting for a team with Raja Bell
I realized that I had picked a couple of heels and have been hoping people can see past the noise and see that they were professionals that played well.

I think Bell honestly gets an unfair rep in general. Was he supposed to pass up playing on a contender so he could keep playing on an absolutely mediocre team? When he came back, was he supposed to pass on the money because he knew he was old? Is he really so bad for being pissed that Corbin was a ****** coach who had issues communicating with his players and keeping players happy beyond his situation (Watson, Hayward)?

Bell was a calculating professional and there are worse things.

Also, he had/has nice things to say about his stays here and Jerry Sloan:

I don’t think people hated him for leaving us to play for the suns.

So they hate him for blowing up at Corbin? That’s about the weakest reason to hate a player that I’ve heard.
Everyone was excited when he resigned with Utah. He threw a major hissy fit when he wasn’t playing more than he thought he should’ve been playing, it got so bad the jazz org demanded he stay away from the team.

Again, the coaching and the organization were not respectable at that time. To my knowledge, the body of evidence points to Corbin being unprofessional (who had several similar issues with other players) than it was Bell being a prima donna (who, to my knowledge, never uttered a peep before that).

In any case, this **** hardly mattered then and doesn’t at all matter now.

The other vets were playable, he wasn’t good at all and didn’t deserve minutes. Bell went on a tirade because he thought he should’ve been getting starter minutes. He was toxic
