26 has not been kind to jazz fans.

A bad fit with the jazz, a bad basketball player, and a bad search string for images. Wish that none of it would have happened.

Amachi grabbed his 26th rebound for the Jazz in his 7th game, but in the next 11 games he only got 26 more.

Ky;e Korver joined the utah jazz when he was 26. I blame David Locke for the Korver acquisition.

The Jazz have only had the No. 26 overall pick in the draft once, in 1976. They selected Jacky Dorsey out of Georgia. The Jazz waived him before he had played a game with the Jazz, but he ended up playing a total of 60 games for Denver, Portland, Houston, and Seattle. He was 26 in his last NBA game.

The Jazz have won a total of 26 games in two different seasons: 1978-79 (their final season in New Orleans) and 2004-05.

In the 26-win season of 2004-05, the Jazz ranked 26th in the league in FGs, rebounds, steals, points, defensive rating, and pace.

to obtain kyle korver, the jazz had to give up not only gordan giricek, but also a 2010 draft pick. that pick had 4 different owners, as it went from utah to philly to minny to washington before trevor booker.

amaechi, on the other hand, yielded a pretty good haul. houston agreed to take him so they could dump glen rice's salary despite the fact that rice had started 26 games for the rockets the year prior. in exchange for facilitating the salary dump, the jazz got two second-round picks (robert whaley & dee brown) as well as a first round pick (pavel podkolzin). while whaley and brown only played a combined 72 games for the jazz and podkolzin played a grand total of 0, this was an important trade for us.

pavel was traded by the jazz for an additional draft pick in 2005, and the jazz used that pick -- along with their own #6 pick and a late 2006 1st to get their hands on deron williams. deron was then traded -- at age 26, mind you -- for favors, kanter, harris (who was later traded for a 26-year-old marvin williams) and a future pick. in other words, without amaechi and this salary-dump trade, we would have never had williams or favors.

although it's also worth mentioning that meech only wore 26 after mark jackson joined the team and used his veteran right to take back #13. at that point meech chose 26 because it was double his old number.

meanwhile, whaley was packaged with kris humphries to get the jazz a shot at developing rafael araujo, who joined the team at the age of 26.

You never cease to amaze me in these threads.
