Hundley entered 2008-09 having broadcast 2,964 of a possible 2,978 Jazz regular season and playoff games over his first 34 years, and has called well over 3,000 NBA games overall. Now in his 42nd season as an NBA broadcaster, Hundley calls games with a distinctive voice and unique play-by-play style that has made him instantly recognizable to audiences nationwide.

In 1994, he won the NBA's Distinguished Broadcaster Award, an honor given only twice previously.Hundley appeared in the 2006 movie Church Ball starring Fred Willard and Clint Howard. He is also in talks for a movie that will showcase his early childhood and basketball career.

In 2000, Hundley graduated from WVU with a bachelor’s degree in arts and sciences, 43 years after leaving his alma mater without a degree to play in the NBA.

Bill Libby also wrote a biographical book about Hundley, "Clown: No. 33 in Your Program, No. 1in Your Heart," in 1970

- In 1975-76, Aaron James had 33 steals
- Gail Goodrich was 33 years old when the 1976-77 season started
- In 1977-78, Gus Bailey had 33 TOs.
- In 1978-79, Pistol Pete had 33 offensive rebounds
- 1979-80 was a magical year with the Jazz and 33. 3 different players (Tom Boswell, Mack Calvin, and Greg Deane) were assigned that number at different times that season. Ron Boone was 33 at the start of the season. Brad Davis had 33 FGs. Robert Smith made 33% of his FGs. Paul Dawkins made 33 FTs. To top it off, Pistol Pete had 33 defensive rebounds with the Jazz before being waived.

- In 1982-83, Rich Kelley had 33 steals
- In 1983-84, Jerry Eaves had 33 steals
- In the 1985 NBA Playoffs (I couldn't get anything for the regular season), Pace Mannion shot 33% on FGs.

From 1977-78 on he had knee issues. When the Jazz waived him, the Celtics claimed him off waivers. He retired after the 1979-80 season.

- In 1996-97 Karl Malone and Jeff Hornaced were 33 at the start of the season and Jamie Watson shot 33% on 3PAs and scored a total of 33 points for the season
- In 1997-98 Karl Malone shot 33% on 3PAs and Chris Morris had 33 TOs
- In 1998-99 (really just 1999 due to the lockout) Thurl Bailey attempted 33 FGs in the playoffs and Jeff Hornacek attempted 33 FTs in the playoffs
- In 1999-00 Jeff Hornacek had 33 assists in the playoffs

- In 2000-01 Quincy Lewis had 33 defensive rebounds
- In 2001-02 Rusty LaRue played in 33 games, John Amaechi's FG% was 33 (all percentages I've mentioned in this thread are rounded), John Starks made 33 FTs and had 33 steals, and Quincy Lewis had 33 defensive rebounds for the second year in a row
- In 2002-03 DeShawn Stevenson and AK47 each shot 33% on 3PAs and Matt Harpring played 33 MPG
- In 2003-04 Michael Ruffin and Keon Clark each shot 33% on FGs, Matt Harpring had 33 3PAs, Carlos Arroyo and Tom Gugliotta each shot 33% on 3PAs, and Ben Handlogten had 33 defensive rebounds
- In 2004-05 Kris Humphries shot 33% on 3PAs, Raul Lopez had 33 FTAs, and AK47 and Harpring each played 33 MPG

In 2008-09 Morris Almond made 33 FGs and Fes shot a miserable 33% on FTs
In 2009-10 Eric Maynor had 33 FTAs and Fes had 3 offensive rebounds
In 2010-11 Francisco Elson had 33 assists and Devin Harris had 33 PFs
In 2011-12 Jamaal Tinsley was 33 at the start of the season, He Who Shall Not Be Named started 33 games, Alec Burks shot 33% on 3PAs, and Paul Millsap played 33 MPG.
