I know theres a music thread somewhere in General Discussion, but nothing really pinpointed this topic exactly. What are you favourite albums of the year?? Include whatever genre you desire. Negrep if anyone even mentions Watch The Throne.

I can't just go five. My favorite album, hands down, was Sleeper Agent's "Celebrasion". It is everything I would want from a garage band, filled with hooks and is a lot of fun. Next would be The Kills' "Blood Pressures". Right now, I am listening to the Black Keys' "El Camino". Those are probably the top three, since they were the most played on my ipod. After that, I listened to the following a lot:

Decemberists' "The King Is Dead"
TV on the Radio's "Nine Types of Light"
My Morning Jacket's "Circuital"
Wild Flag's self titled album
Yuck's self titled album
Raphael Saadiq's "Stone Rollin'"
Beastie Boys' "Hot Sauce Committee, Pt.2"
Tom Waits' "Bad As Me"
Foo Fighters "Wasting Light"
Girls' "Father, Son, Holy Ghost"

I actually liked The Album to Not Be Named, but it didn't have the staying power the above albums had. I also liked the Adele album, with candles, a nice glass of wine, and a hot bath.

Good list YB. As for everyone else, definitely feel free to list more than 5 off, if you need to

My musical taste encompass a plethora of genres, so its hard to condense my favourites into five, or even one; regardless, Id probably say that one of my preferred albums of this year was Undun, by the Roots. Bon Iver's self-titled album was also quite good. I am quite a big Hip Hop fan, but not much really appealed to me this year, other than a decent debut by Saigon, and an interesting LP from Yelawolf. I agree with the Adele praise; Florence from Florence & the Machine and Adele are probably two of my favourite upcoming female singers. Common's album was disappointing to me, was definitely expecting a bit more from such poetic individual. Rave on, Buddy Holly was also really good. Good year for music, but 2012 could be even better .

I haven't heard any of Common's new stuff, but I did hear his diss song at Drake and love that he went at the fraud's head.

I say you should give it a listen. It is by no means bad, Ive just always seen him as one of the best artists of the genre, and his last two albums don't really reflect that, in my opinion. His older works are much, much better. His album is good, definitely one of the better Hip Hop albums of the year, but its not something Id ever give serious praise.

Joyce Manor's "Joyce Manor"
Shabazz Palaces' "Black Up"
Ampere's "Like Shadows"
Daniel Striped Tiger's "No Difference"
Cloud Mouth's "Keep Well"
Summer Vacation's "Condition" (because I wanted to do a top 6)

I can never remember what came out to do an accurate top 10 list though, so this will probably change in a month when I remember other things that I loved from 2011.
