#9 + Millsap for Love + #23

Millsap is great value for his contract. I doubt the Jazz move him after one year of paying him a high percentage of his contract.

Horrendous trade. They get a much better pick and player. I love Love but from everything I know, his defense leaves a lot to be desired.

And no, thats a bad trade anyways.

I'd take Millsap all day everyday over Love. All you need to do is watch when they were matched up against each other. Millsap defecated on him. Swapping the 9 for the 23 on top of that trade would be like asking Minnesota to kick us in the junk repeatedly with steel toe boots.

This is the worst hypothetical trade I've seen on this board in a long time. Arguably the worst in the history of my life. The only one that contends is when my friend Connor asked me if I'd trade my fruit by the foot for a tangerine back in 3rd grade at lunch.

You sound bitter.

You took that tangerine, didn't you?

Love is a hard worker but so is Millsap. We don't gain much with this trade, straight up. Love is not #9 for #23 better than Millsap. I'd rather keep Millsap and the #9.

Really? I can remember 2 or 3 games in the last 2 years where Love had his way against Utah.

Who says no and why?
I say no way.

Love is bigger than Millsap, but production is about the same. Love's points, rebounding and FG% are roughly the same as they were as a rookie on a per minute basis. So probably not much upside.

Kevin Love: 14/11 in 29 mins 45% FG and 0.5 blocks
Paul Millsap: 12/7 in 28 mins 53% FG and 1.0 blocks

I'll take the 8% difference in FG% and give Millsap some more shots when Boozer is gone. And then we give up a starter at #9 for a player who projects as a backup at #23?

No thanks. Millsap and Monroe/Aldrich/Whiteside/Babbitt is >>>>>>>>> Love and some guy like Mo Almond or Kosta Doufos.

Yes.

Kevin Love's stats would explode in the Jazz set system. Plus his outlet passes would lead to 2 more fast breaks per game.

Love is a better player than Millsap. In fact, Love's PER was on par with Boozer's this past season. He's a much better rebounder (rebound % of ~21% vs. 14%) than Millsap and, as has been mentioned, is also a superior passer. In addition, he'd be cheaper for the next two years and more likely to take a substantial forward as he's only 21.

I would probably say no to trade also. Love and Millsap seem equal caliber. Love does some things better. Millsap has better things he does. So Jazz would give the #9 for #23. No way . Keep Millsap and pick. Would not rule out trading Millsap for something else though. Deron is the only untouchable player on team right now. Everyone else is expendable for the right deal.

Yeah, using Millsap for the #2 or #3 seems more along the lines of being better for our franchise. It's better in the sense that quantity is only good when you're rebuilding and missing pieces, not just one piece, potentially.
