What's new

9 offensive rebounds clippers......

9 is a pretty normal amount of offensive rebounds to get actually. In the regular season the median amount of offensive rebounds per game among the 30 teams was 10.1.

The problem is we aren't getting any offensive rebounds ourselves, at least not this game.

Then go look at us playing OKC. Adams+Kanter+Gibson vs. Favors+Diaw+Joe+Lyles? We need someone who has the muscle and energy like Trevor Booker

But when I look deeper at the stats, the Clippers had a 27% offensive rebound rate, which would be the 5th highest this regular season.

On the flip-side, the Jazz had a 9% offensive rebound rate, which is 9% lower than the lowest regular season average.

I think it's pretty clear the Jazz gamelan is to get back on defense rather than go for offensive rebounds. The probably think they save more points in transition than what they would gain in second chance points. As far as the LAC offensive rebounds, at least half come off Deandre Jordan pushing off

Yeah they didn't miss much.

Again Rudy is unique here too. He can crash the offensive boards by himself and still get back cuz he busts his *** up the floor.

Rudy.... I miss u. Come back... I need to see you. #nohomo

Rudy was the best offensive rebounder in the league this year. Someone has to step in and fill that void. So often the shot went up and we had 5 guys already headed down-court. Pathetic.

At least 3 times Ingles missed a long shot that, if he had just stayed put, would have come right back to him. Same with others. No crashing the boards at all. Pretty much we just got the rebounds that came close to our players. Didn't really fight for much on that end.
