The Jazz need to put some talent with the Stars. I know the salaries mostly suck but the last year in Boise they were horrible for a DLeague team and I don't think things improved last year.
I think a PG is a lock with the other 2-way contract as the Jazz have enough wings and bigs. But I don't necessarily think NWG is a lock. TBH, it almost sounded like a Burke situation. DL gave credit to Stockton and I believe said the analytics team liked NGW. Almost as if he was trying to distance himself from the pick.I don't think there is a reason to discuss other options. Our two way contracts are fairly set in stone it seems. Eric Griffin already agreed to one and Nigel Williams Goss is a near lock to get the other.

Wouldn't surprise me to see the 2-way contract remain open through training camp. DL might wait for other teams' cuts before making an offer to someone. NGW could be offered a regular GLeague deal if he doesn't impress in training camp.

It hasn't been the Jazz m.o. to draft someone and then drop their rights in the same offseason. They've been drafting second rounders and keeping their rights for at least a season. Over the last few years they were sending some of them overseas. But that's no longer necessary with two way contracts. DL and Quin were both happy after the selection. It sounded like it was a group consensus not just Stockton's opinion or the analytics team liking him.
