Draft night? I remember it like it was today:

Suspense filled the room before the Cavs pick their player.

Will it be Noel? Will it be Len? Will it be Oladipo?

It has to be one of those three players. It has to be.

Or does it? Only Cleveland knows who they will pick.

First shocker of the night, Anthony Bennett goes #1 to the Cavs!

The 2nd and 3rd picks go as expected, but how far is Noel and McLemore going to fall? No way Noel gets past the Bobcats at #4 right? No way he does.

Second shocker of the night, Cody Zeller goes #4 to the Bobcats! Say whaaaaat?

The Suns were trying to move up and grab Noel, but surprisingly he is still there at #5. Okay this time no way he gets past the Suns at #5.

Third semi-shocker of the night, Suns pass up Noel and McLemore and take Alex Len. What is going on??

Finally, Nerlens Noel goes #6 to the Pelicans and Ben McLemore goes #7 to the Kings.

No point guards have been taken yet, do the Jazz have a chance at one of the top one's?

Detroit is on the clock.. well there goes Burke, but Minnesota will take KCP at #9 leaving MCW and McCollum still on the board.

Breaking News: Pelicans trade Nerlens Noel, 2014 first-round pick to the 76ers for Jrue Holiday?

Wow! Now the 76ers need a point guard, now it will be very tough for a top point guard to be there at #14.

Detroit shocks everybody and takes KCP? Wait, so there is a chance?

Minnesota is on the clock at #9, well KCP is gone so they will take Shabazz no doubt.

Huh? Minnesota takes Trey Burke at #9? No way he stays there, just no way. Kahn left didn't he?

Trail Blazers take C.J. McCollum at #10, well kind of a shock, but how will he fit in with Lillard?

Breaking News: Minnesota trades Trey Burke to the Jazz for the #14, #21 picks!!!

Fast forward a little bit, Utah takes Shabazz Muhammad at #14 obviously it is for Minnesota which is no shocker.

Let's fast forward a little bit more, Utah takes Gorgui Dieng at #21 once again obviously for Minnesota again.

Well, let's just call it a night and take someone at #46, it has been a great draft already.

Denver takes Rudy Gobert with the #27 pick, what a steal for them at that pick..

Breaking News: Denver trades Rudy Gobert to Utah for the #46 pick and cash.

"What?" - Bill Simmons in shock that Denver just GAVE Gobert away.

Wait, wait, wait, the Jazz got Gobert for a 2nd-round pick and cash? Huh? Did this really just happen?

Jazzfanz goes crazy and some are saying Lindsey is a god, which it seems like he is!

The Jazz just got two steals in the draft giving up the #14, #21, #46, and cash for the #9 and #27 picks.

Jazz get a A+ for a draft grade. Let's all talk on Jazzfanz and call it a perfect night.

The Jazz take Erick Green with the #46 pick and he is going to Denver. To reiterate it is a steal for the Jazz.

With the 47th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft the Atlanta Hawks select Raul Neto.

Breaking News: Atlanta trades Raul Neto to Utah for a future 2nd-round pick.

Is this a joke? Is Lindsey really pulling all of this stuff off? Wow! Another steal.

Jazz trade #14, #21, #46, a future 2nd-round pick, and cash for #9, #27, and #47.

What a night for the Utah Jazz. Deservedly get a A+ for their efforts on draft night.

Let's fast forward a week or so after the draft. The great news started to begin.

July 4th, Al Jefferson signs with the Bobcats on a 3-year $41 mil deal.

Is this a dream? Big Al signed with another team? Thank god! Thank you Lindsey!

July 5th, Jazz trade Kevin Murphy to the Warriors for Andris Biedrins, Richard Jefferson, Brandon Rush, a 2014 unprotected first-round pick, a 2017 unprotected first-round pick, and two future second-round picks.

Bill Simmons shortly tweeted after:

Utah taking on $25 million of salary clutter for 2 future 1st-rounders is a textbook "Suck For Wiggins" move. I thoroughly support it.

Let's face it, the Jazz weren't going to net any big name free agents this off-season anyway. So why not take on a few scrubs as a rental for a year and grab huge assets? Brandon Rush is vastly underrated as a player. Let's not forget the year before he got injured he was averaging almost 10 points a game and was shooting 45% from three in 26 minutes per game. 45% from three!!!

As John Calipari confirms, the 2014 and 2017 drafts are the strongest drafts in the next five years. The Jazz just added an extra first-round pick in both of those drafts for taking on some salary!

Don't forget the emphasis on unprotected either.

July 5th, Paul Millsap signs with the Hawks on a 2-year $19 mil deal.

Wait, first Big Al and now Millsap? Is Lindsey reading Jazzfanz? This man is a genius! Favors and Kanter will both start next year!

July 5th, DeMarre Carroll signs with the Hawks on a 2-year $5 mil deal.

We all agree that he will be missed, but there wasn't too much room for a extra wing either.

July 7th, Jazz sign-and-trade Randy Foye to the Nuggets for a future second-round pick.

We wanted Foye gone anyway and we got another pick out of the deal? Wow! Is Lindsey god?

That my friends has been the Utah Jazz's off-season this far and my oh my has it been a great one. Here is to hoping we don't re-sign Mo, which we won't and we sign a serviceable back-up to Burke.

To recap, the Jazz traded Shabazz Muhammad, Gorgui Dieng, Erick Green, Randy Foye, Kevin Murphy, a future second-round pick and cash for Trey Burke, Rudy Gobert, Raul Neto, Andris Biedrins, Richard Jefferson, Brandon Rush, a 2014 unprotected first-round pick, a 2017 unprotected first round pick, three future second-round picks and let Big Al and Millsap walk all in the same off-season.

Let's not forget that a second-round pick and cash netted us Rudy Gobert and a future second-round pick netted us Raul Neto both on draft night.

The future is so bright my friends that we might need sunglasses.

The GS trade we made is going to look pretty good when we draft Poythress with Golden State's pick after drafting a future All Star with our own. Then to add to our core of 8 (count 'em 8) young talents, we look ahead to having something like $35 million in cap space to make extensions and keep dealing. Meanwhile, a whole host of teams with middling rosters are going to look to unload assets onto us to give them flexibility.

It's crazy to think with our remaining cap space we might get another player with a pick and a back-up point with the vet minimum.

And then flip some of those expirings at the deadline or use cap space again next summer. Lindsey will be able to get 2x return on a lot of the assets, just having to hold in reserve sufficient cap space to sign Favors, Hayward and the 2014 picks.
