Airline prices

Its getting so lame. I hate how there is no consistency. I remember when Southwest and Jetblue were the cheapest. Now they are the most expensive. Jetblue used to do a 99 dollar SLC to NYC red eye flight. Those were the days. Plus now all the baggage fees are insane. I do like the hopper app though. Its helped me find some good deals.

I just wanted to vent.

I'm with you on this. Fortunately, when our kids were young and we often flew east to visit relatives, Southwest had service non-stop from Midway in Chicago to Islip on Long Island and there were times the fares were as low as $29 - $39 each way - the highest it generally got was about $69 each way. Now the fares are about $109 each way, and you have to change planes in Baltimore.

Virgin America to the west coast seems to have reasonable fares, and there's no bag fee if you're in their rewards program.

One of the most irritating things is when you see a really good fare but it's for flights that leave at 5 AM or something - or leave at 11 PM and don't arrive until 1 AM.

You know what else sucks? Taxes, that's what.
